MANHATTAN, NE WYORK CITY: Sunny Hostin, a co-host on 'The View,' criticized Charlamagne tha God for his remarks comparing President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump on a recent episode of the show.

Hostin deemed Charlamagne's comments as "irresponsible," particularly his assertion that both candidates are equivalent in quality.

Charlamagne discusses voting principles and candidate preference

Hostin emphasized during 'The View: Behind the Table' podcast that she found it irresponsible to equate both candidates as "trash."

She elaborated, stating, "When you're comparing President Biden, who has made significant contributions to this country, with someone facing 88 charges and four indictments, and who is evidently involved in criminal activities, it is, in my perspective, irresponsible."

During his appearance on 'The View' to promote his new book, 'Get Honest or Die Lying: Why Small Talk Sucks,' Charlamagne expressed his reluctance to endorse Biden in the upcoming election despite his public criticisms of Trump.

When questioned by Hostin about his stance, Charlamagne clarified that he intends to vote based on issues rather than individual candidates.

While not explicitly endorsing a candidate, he subtly hinted at his preference without making a formal declaration.

“If I’m sitting here telling my listeners that, you know, you have somebody out there who is a threat to democracy, you have somebody out there who said they want to suspend the Constitution and overthrow the results of an election, you saw this person try to lead an attempted coup of this country,” he said.

Charlamagne added, “And I’m telling people that this guy’s a threat to democracy — have you ever read ‘Project 2025?’ There are only two candidates out there. So, if I’m saying that about this individual, the choice is clear, right?”

Charlamagne prioritizes issues and democracy over candidate endorsements

During his appearance on 'The View,' the American radio host also criticized the show's hosts for pressuring other guests to endorse candidates when they are not comfortable doing so.

He specifically mentioned the episode featuring Killer Mike back in February, where the hosts allegedly pushed the rapper to make an endorsement against his will.

“And I’ve seen y’all do this on ‘The View’ before. I saw y’all do this to Killer Mike when he was on ‘The View,’” Charlamagne said, adding, “And Killer Mike literally sat here and said ‘Hey, I supported Keisha Lance Bottoms. I supported Raph Warnock. I supported Jon Ossoff, right? In Georgia. He said, ‘You should support the person who the people I’ve supported are supporting.’”

Charlamagne tha God concluded his remarks by emphasizing that if he finds all the available candidates unsatisfactory, he should focus on the issues and the democratic process itself.

He argued that in such a scenario, the focus should shift away from endorsing specific candidates and instead prioritize engaging with the core political and social concerns that matter most to voters.

“If I think both candidates are trash, and I don’t feel like endorsing one, would you rather me [sic] endorse an individual, or endorse the fact that, hey, we need to go out here [sic] and protect democracy?” he said.

In response, Hostin said, "If he is going to vote for Joe Biden, then say it, don’t dance around it. This is not the time to sit it out. Too much is at stake."

Netizens slam Hostin calling her 'beyond arrogant'

Hostin appeared unmoved by Charlamagne's remarks, maintaining her stance firmly.

However, her strong belief that Charlamagne's eventual vote for Biden meant avoiding direct discussion on the matter received severe backlash from netizens.

One viewer expressed, "@sunnyis beyond arrogant and completely insufferable."

Another viewer shared, "How dare someone think for themself and leave the plantation."

One viewer pointed out, "OMG, she's on a roll this week huh, cry some more Sunny."

A follower observed, " CTG doesn’t wanna be associated with the View…"

One comment stated, "All these shrieking shrews are irrelevant. I really wish the media would stop giving them a platform beyond ABC."

Another comment read, "Sunny Hostin is one of the biggest racist and hateful person with a platform. The whole she needs to be canceled."

"Sunny Hostin is such a clown," explained an individual.
