NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Alyssa Farah Griffin fielded a personal jibe from her co-host Sunny Hostin while discussing President Joe Biden's mental fitness to hold office during the February 9 episode of 'The View'.

The subject was brought up at the Hot Topics table by co-host Joy Behar in light of the release of a special counsel report, and the subsequent press conference held by the President.

The report by Special Counsel Robert Hur stated that Biden did not break the law with his handling of classified documents, and as such will not be facing any criminal charges.

However, it also mentioned that Biden allegedly forgot key details of his life, including information surrounding his time as vice president and his son's death, during pertinent interviews while the probe was being conducted.

Sunny Hostin rebukes Alyssa Farah Griffin

Griffin, the only Republican around the table, was expressing that Biden was not the ideal Presidential candidate for Democrats to back, when she said, "This is not Barack Obama. I think Democrats have to wake up to the fact that especially young people are watching and they’re seeing one of the weakest presidents in my lifetime, he’s a good man, he’s a decent man, he has had accomplishments..."

At that point, Hostin interrupted her, asking, "One of the weakest presidents in your lifetime and you worked for Donald Trump?" The audience in the studio applauded at the comment, throwing Griffin off her track.

However, she was quick to collect herself, as she held up her hand to Hostin and quipped that her co-host's comment was a "great laugh line" for applause.

"I don’t want to be here after election day and Donald Trump won because you guys didn’t wake up ..." she added.

Alyssa Farah Griffin's role at the Trump White House

During the presidency of Donald Trump, Griffin had worked for both the President, as well as the Vice-President, Mike Pence. She served as the White House Director of Strategic Communications and Assistant to the President till 2020.

Griffin resigned from the Trump administration after the president cried election fraud, subsequently speaking against him and criticizing his actions that led to the riot on January 6, 2021.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Griffin joined 'The View' as a permanent host along with Ana Navarro in late 2022. She has since spoken out against her former boss regularly, with co-host Sara Haines once speculating that she would be among the ones in trouble if Trump secures a second term in the White House and chooses to exact revenge on his political enemies.
