SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA: Fans of Super Bowl LX received an unexpected gift as they marched towards Levi’s Stadium to watch the game between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots on Sunday, February 8.

A group of artists, musicians, and community organizers reportedly distributed over 25,000 rally towels — dubbed "Flags in the Stands" — with “ICE OUT” written on them. The towels also included a political cartoon.

The group that did the distribution was Contra-ICE, which was protesting the tactics used by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) across the country. The federal agency has faced widespread criticism for being aggressive while dealing with people that also led to the deaths of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis.

Activist and political cartoonist Lalo Alcaraz was the brain behind the towels. His design not only included an “ICE OUT” message but also featured an illustration of Bad Bunny wearing a jersey that reads “Contra 47” while kicking a football surrounded by a block of ICE.

The illustration also showed the rapper holding a Green Day heart grenade. Besides, the towel reportedly comes with a QR code that directs people to the Contra-ICE donation site.

In a statement, Alcaraz said, “Art has always been a way to confront hate wherever it appears. When injustice becomes part of everyday life, artists have a responsibility to make it visible.”

“In a public space and cultural moment the whole country is watching, images, color, and movement become a way to express love and push back against hate in plain sight,” he added.

Bad Bunny and Green Day slammed ICE crackdown

This came after Bad Bunny during this year’s 2026 Grammy Awards said, “Before I say thanks to God, I'm going to say ICE out.”

After accepting the award for Best Musica Urbana Album, the singer added, “We're not savages, we're not animals, we're not aliens – we're humans. The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that's more powerful than hate is love, so, please, we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love.”

Green Day also took a stand against ICE during a Super Bowl party on Friday. Lead vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong said, “This goes out to all the ICE agents out wherever you are. Quit your s**t a** job. Quit that s**t job you have.”
