MIAMI, FLORIDA: In a recent interview on 'Eric Bolling: The Balance,' Lara Trump, wife of Eric Trump, expressed her openness to a potential rematch between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

Lara Trump's perspective

Lara suggested that Clinton might step in to bolster President Joe Biden's diminishing poll numbers, speculating that Clinton has been eagerly waiting for an opportunity to re-enter the political arena.

"Let's be honest, we all know that if they even kind of gave Hillary, like a half a wink, like you could get in here, she would go for it," Lara remarked. "I'm here for it. I'm ready for it. If they want to throw her in the ring as well, I would be available," Lara added.

While an NBC News report made no mention of Clinton becoming a candidate, it did highlight her recent fundraising efforts for Biden's re-election campaign, generating nearly $1 million. The report also referenced an op-ed in The Atlantic where Clinton advocated for the eradication of the militant group Hamas.

The article from NBC News delivered lines such as "Biden and Clinton have not always been close ... but the president is thirsty for allies right now."

Social media critics labeled Lara as "super ignorant" for the comments and cast doubts on Trump's success in future elections.

"Lara Trump is super ignorant," one posted on Facebook.

"Look in the mirror Laura, sing for your dinner. Trump is finish [sic], President Biden will finish that conman, he cannot even win the state he was born in," another wrote.

"Well, if Lara Trump says it.... do the opposite for cris sake [sic]," someone else quipped.

"There is a real chance at this time next year Defendant Trump is sitting in a federal corrections facility and Joe is preparing to be sworn in on a second term. While Defendant Trump's convictions are inevitable, we can still nominate someone who will be eligible to serve and can win," another offered.

Hillary Clinton's growing role in Joe Biden's campaign

Despite the criticisms, the NBC News article anticipated Clinton's increasing role in Biden's re-election bid, citing not only her fundraising capabilities but also her emergence as a high-profile surrogate.

Clinton is utilizing her foreign policy experience to support Biden's stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict, emphasizing the need for strategic pauses rather than a full ceasefire.

She reiterated in her op-ed last month that "the Biden administration is correct not to seek a full cease-fire at this moment," something a growing number of young Democratic voters have been urging.

According to her, it "would give Hamas a chance to re-arm and perpetuate the cycle of violence. Hamas would claim that it had won and it would remain a key part of Iran’s so-called axis of resistance."

Before the op-ed, Clinton defended both Biden and Israel during an appearance on ABC's 'The View'' She endorsed his "humanitarian pauses," while continuing to push against a full ceasefire.

Fox News’ Charlie Hurt said every time it seems as if Hillary Clinton has gone away, she comes back. "I think Joe Biden's going to need more than a[n] 'I'm with her' T-shirt with all of his political problems," he said on 'The Big Weekend Show'.

"But, you know you are in deep, deep trouble if you are picking up the bat phone and calling Hillary Clinton to come help you out," Hurt added.

"And I think it was sort of interesting that their thinking is that he needs help among women voters. If you need help among women voters, and you're a Democrat, and you're running against Donald Trump, you should just quit because it's over," he added.

Co-host Alicia Acuna said the Clintons are known for showing up and will come in and give everything they can to help.

"In terms of her popularity, that's a big question and it could be a big risk. It just depends on where she shows up, when she shows up, and what she has to say because she and Biden don't exactly have a cozy relationship," she noted and added, "They were pretty competitive."

A Wall Street Journal poll released over the weekend found President Biden trailing former President Trump by four points in a head-to-head matchup.

With 53% of voters indicating that Biden's policies have negatively impacted them and two-thirds rating the economy as poor or not good, the 2024 election landscape appears challenging for the current administration.
