Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun reportedly join Washington wildfire relief efforts

SPOKANE, WASHINGTON: Sydney Sweeney has reportedly returned to her hometown of Spokane to support ongoing wildfire relief efforts after revealing that the devastating fires have affected members of her own family.

Sources have also said Sweeney has been volunteering on the ground alongside boyfriend Scooter Braun.

The fires have scorched more than 10,000 acres, damaged hundreds of structures, and forced tens of thousands of residents to evacuate.

Sydney Sweeney aids Spokane wildfire relief efforts

According to TMZ, citing sources with direct knowledge, Sweeney and Braun traveled to Washington state amid the devastating Spokane-area wildfires because the actress felt compelled to return home and help in any way she could.

Sources said she has been working nonstop since arriving, delivering food to firefighters between shifts on the front lines while also helping prepare and distribute meals to families affected by the fires.

The couple also reportedly volunteered with Second Harvest Food Bank in Spokane and World Central Kitchen.

Sources also said the actress has been seen buying groceries around town and working with local restaurants to secure food and shelter for residents displaced by the fires. In addition, she has reportedly made significant donations to multiple relief organizations.

Sharing an emotional message on Instagram Stories, the 'Euphoria' actress wrote, "Spokane has always been home to me. It's where I grew up, where my family still lives, and where so many of the people and places that shaped me are."

She continued, "devastating fires have changed countless lives in ways that are hard to put into words," adding that thousands of families had lost their homes, belongings, and businesses, "including members of my own family." 

Calling the destruction unprecedented for the community, Sweeney wrote that "this devastation is something our community has never experienced on this scale." She also noted that, "unlike larger cities that often receive an overwhelming amount of national attention and resources, Spokane doesn't have the same spotlight."

The actress encouraged followers to support organizations assisting on the ground, highlighting Innovia Foundation, SpokAnimal, Watch Duty, and Second Harvest.

"Every donation, no matter the size, will help support those affected as they begin the long road to rebuilding," she wrote before concluding, "Thank you for standing with my hometown during one of its most difficult moments. Love, Syd."

Sweeney later reshared a post from Baby2Baby stating that the nonprofit had distributed nearly 350,000 emergency supplies, including diapers, wipes, formula, hygiene products, towels, comfort items, and bottles, to families and children displaced by the wildfires.

The wildfire relief efforts came as Sweeney also celebrated Braun's 45th birthday with a heartfelt tribute on Instagram Stories. In one post, alongside a photo of herself kissing Braun on the cheek, she wrote, "Happiest of birthdays to the man with the biggest heart I know."

She followed it with a black-and-white image of the couple dancing together on a basketball court while wearing jerseys, adding, "..thank you for all the living room dances and making me smile again. A good man is rare. A man like you is once in a lifetime."

The birthday tribute offered another public glimpse into the couple's relationship, which PEOPLE first confirmed in September 2025. At the time, a source said they were seeing each other but were still getting to know one another, adding, "Everything is casual. She is living her life and working hard."
