SANFORD, FLORIDA: Tank Dell, a wide receiver for the Houston Texans, was among the 11 individuals who were injured during a mass shooting during a crowded nightclub event in Florida on the night of Saturday, April 27. 

Dell, 24, was reportedly an innocent bystander “caught in the crossfire” during a mass shooting at an establishment in Sanford, Florida.

The teenager who initiated the gunfire was later recognized as 16-year-old Christopher Bouie Jr, the DailyMail reported.

Tank Dell suffers ‘minor’ injury amid shooting

Tank Dell suffered a 'minor' injury while at Cabana Live in Sanford, Florida, and was subsequently discharged from the hospital. The Texans reported Dell is in 'good spirits' after the frightening experience.

Teen arrested after shooting at Florida nightclub

Christopher Bouie Jr, 16, was taken into custody in connection with the reported shooting, the New York Post reported.

He faces charges of attempted homicide, possession of a firearm by a minor, use and display of a firearm during a felony, and discharging a weapon on public property, as outlined in his arrest report.

The teenager reportedly brandished a black and silver 9mm handgun and fired shots into a crowd, purportedly triggered by a fistfight in which he was not involved.

Subsequently, a security guard tackled him and disarmed him. Law enforcement officers were already present at the venue conducting a patrol due to the large gathering.

What happened to the other 10 people injured at the shooting?

The injuries sustained by the ten individuals shot are not life-threatening and predominantly affect their lower limbs.

Dell, embarking on his sophomore season in the NFL, showed promise during his debut season with Houston. As a 2023 third-round pick, he amassed 709 receiving yards and seven touchdowns across 11 games before injury abruptly halted his season.

Dell fractured his fibula during a December victory against the Broncos.
