WASHINGTON. DC: Donald Trump falsely and bizarrely claimed Taylor Swift's endorsement through a series of AI-generated images shared on his Truth Social account on Sunday, August 18.

Furthermore, Trump circulated a news article that incorrectly asserted Swift's fans were shifting their allegiance to Trump after a thwarted terror plot aimed at her concerts in Vienna, Austria.

Swift’s Eras Tour shows in Vienna were canceled after Austrian authorities foiled a terrorist attack targeting the concerts.

The post also included AI-generated images of women in "Swifties for Trump" t-shirts. Trump responded to the collage with the caption, "I accept!"

To clarify, Swift has not expressed support for any presidential candidate in the 2024 election as yet. However, she did endorse Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the 2020 election, as Consequence reports.

“The change we need most is to elect a president who recognizes that people of color deserve to feel safe and represented, that women deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and that the LGBTQIA+ community deserves to be acknowledged and included,” she saying while explaining her decision to V Magazine at that time.

Trump made remarks about Swift earlier this year as well. Ramin Setoodeh, the editor-in-chief of Variety, questioned the former president whether the pop singer was truly a liberal, in an interview for his book 'Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass'.

Trump said, "It surprises me that a country star can be successful being liberal."

Internet reacts as Donald Trump falsely claims Taylor Swift's endorsement

Upon discovering Donald Trump's false assertion of Taylor Swift's endorsement, social media users began to mock and criticize the former president.

A user wrote, "Lol, Trump posted a collage of AI generated Taylor Swift fans wearing ‘Swifities for Trump’ T-shits, and wrote “I accept!” as if this were real. I mean…..this is uniquely pathetic, even for Trump."

Another added, "Trump “should be disqualified because the creation of a fake image is ELECTION INTERFERENCE. Anyone who does that will cheat at ANYTHING!”"

The third commentator suggested, "Taylor should just sue him for superimposing her name and false advertising to boot."

"Trump is so desperate for Taylor Swift to support him that he’s thanking an AI generated image that he shared. The man is just so pathetic," one remarked.

Another slammed Trump saying, "He’s beyond pathetic. He has the brain of a grade schooler."

Other chimed in, "Uhm taylor could sue for this AI generated fans are one thing, but he's made unauthorised use of *her* image he does realise he can't directly oppose the other billionaire one on one when he lives off his debts, right?"
