This came after reports revealed that Sandler “said yes right away” when he was asked to officiate the star-studded ceremony. PEOPLE reported, citing a source, that the actor was “incredibly honored to be part of such a special day.”
The source added that Sandler did not try to make his role overly elaborate.
“He wasn’t trying to find the perfect words or make it this big production. He just wanted to speak from the heart and pass along a little wisdom that he’s gained from his own happy marriage,” the insider said.
The source also described the 59-year-old actor as the “perfect person” for the role because he has “been happily married for so many years” to his wife, Jackie.
