Ted Cruz says Donald Trump is ‘most trolled’ person
“I'd probably say it's Donald Trump,” the Texas Senator said, rebuking the actress’s statement.
When asked whether 79-year-old Trump receiving hatred at this age is fine or not, Cruz replied, “Like most trolling in life, some is fair, and some is unfair.”
Sharing his experience with trolls, Cruz said that he takes trolls as a joke. “When it's funny, I laugh!” he exclaimed.
Cruz progressed, saying he would “absolutely” troll people back sometimes. The Senator then appreciated Meghan for her acting skills and shared how he “enjoyed” watching her in the “awesome” series ‘Suits.’
Meghan Markle says she was trolled and attacked for 10 years
44-year-old, former actress made headlines on the third day of her Australia visit on Thursday, April 16, when he candidly opened up about her experience with online toxicity.
Markle was addressing a classroom of young people involved with the mental health organisation Batyr, at Swinburne University of Technology in Australia, where she expressed disappointment that social media companies were "not incentivised to stop.”
“For now, 10 years, every day for 10 years, I have been bullied and attacked. And I was the most trolled person in the entire world.
“Now, I’m still here. And when I think of all of you and what you’re experiencing, I think so much of that is having to realize that you know that industry, that billion-dollar industry, that is completely anchored and predicated on cruelty to get clicks — that’s not going to change. So you have to be stronger than that, Meghan said.
Meghan advised attendees to stay strong, as she thinks that insensitivity on social media is not going to change because that is what possibly brings them clicks.
During the event, Prince Harry also talked about his mental health friction with social media and hailed Australia's ban on under-16s using social media, describing it as “epic” from a "responsibility and leadership standpoint".
