WASHINGTON, DC: A reporter found a playbook belonging to Republican Sen Ted Cruz in the Senate refectory that purports to outline the senator's strategy for raising money to support his reelection bid, according to Raw Story.

Pablo Manriquez, co-publisher of Capitol Press and self-described "hill reporter and oil painter" on X (formerly Twitter), landed on the tranche of briefing papers that include phone numbers and addresses of notables like Wall Street scion John Loeb and billionaire Ron Lauder, along with harmless information about the weather in New York this week.

Ted Cruz's secret playbook shows he aims to raise funds to get reelected

Manríquez wrote on X, "Someone, presumably a staffer, left a folder full of briefing documents on TED CRUZ donors in the Senate Refectory."

Subsequently, he shared a thread with the senator's comprehensive schedule and talking points in an attempt to court potential wealthy backers. Since then, the post containing images of the papers has been removed because the site claimed they broke X rules.

Notably, Rep Colin Allred (D-TX) is running against Cruz. He was an NFL player for four seasons before turning to civil rights law. Allred has served three years in government.

The records provide a peek into the strategies and details that Cruz is asked to bring up, along with the precise sums of money he should ask from each individual. Additionally, the pamphlet gives him advice on what to say when they meet.

According to the documents, Cruz is scheduled to attend a Capitol Grille dinner in DC and intends to persuade eight contributors who have committed a total of $19,500. They haven't made any payments yet.

Moreover, Cruz is scheduled to have lunch with Lauder at the upscale restaurant Cipriani on Wednesday, June 19, in New York City. After that, he is anticipated to meet Loeb at the Knickerbocker Club. Cruz then intends to go to the residence of billionaire Mike Novogratz, whose address is shown as unredacted.
