Rashee Rice might get prison time for 6 months after marijuana was found in his car

According to the Daily Mail, Rice could be looking at a stint of up to six months behind bars. This follows the discovery of 10.8 grams of marijuana in the Lamborghini he was driving during a big crash in Dallas.

His attorney, Royce West, assures that Rice is fully cooperating with the investigation. West expects the Dallas District Attorney to file charges soon.

According to WFAA, the police report confirms the presence of marijuana in the car belonging to the Kansas City Chiefs player, which his attorney acknowledges.

West mentioned that he hasn't been contacted by the police regarding this aspect of the investigation. However, according to the Daily Mail, West underscored Rice's dedication to assisting those impacted by the accident.

"He's (Rice) going to do everything in his power to bring their life back to as normal as possible in terms of injuries, in terms of property damage. But for the grace of God, someone could have been injured, I mean, seriously injured."

"He understands that and appreciates it. That’s why he wanted to come out and say that he’s going to be responsible for making certain the victims are made whole as best as possible."

The crash that happened on the North Central Expressway around 6:20 pm local time on March 31 involved Rice's Lamborghini, a Chevrolet Corvette, and four other vehicles, resulting in minor injuries to four individuals, according to the police.

Similar to Rice, the Corvette driver also departed the scene without checking for injuries or exchanging information, as reported by the police. Rice acknowledged his responsibility in an Instagram story post on Wednesday, according to the Daily Mail.

Internet users advocate for severe punishment for Rashee Rice

A reader online wrote, "Now we know the main reason Rice and his crew bailed like cowards after causing the multi-vehicle wreck. No question in my mind there was alcohol in his bloodstream too that thanks to his act got metabolized."

"Doubt if he serves more than a few days of 'shock time' at most or is forced to wear an ankle monitor for a few weeks but his wallet will certainly take a big hit when the multiple-game suspension comes from the NFL head office," the reader added.

Another user wrote, "Shouldn’t he also be charged with hit and run or leaving the scene of an accident? He probably was drunk or stoned - that’s why they ran off."

A user commented, "He should be jailed for leaving the scene of a wreck with people injured. AND for the marijuana too."

Another user commented, "His license should be stripped for 3 years plus jail time."

A user stated, "So what will the Chiefs do? Keep him? Release him? Probably just a slap on the wrist and he’ll be playing on the field this next season."

Another user stated, "We all know he will get no jail time."
