THE BRONX, NEW YORK: Former President Donald Trump expressed his admiration for rapper Sheff G's expensive dental work during his Bronx rally on Thursday, May 23, jokingly saying, "I like that. I want to get that done,"

While the MAGA spearhead's remark appears lighthearted, he drew quite a bit of attention for engaging with Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow, who were indicted over an alleged conspiracy to commit murder.

Trump invited the rappers, Michael Williams aka Sheff G and Tegan Chambers aka Sleepy Hallow, who are facing serious criminal charges, to the stage during the Bronx event, as per Associated Press.

Sheff G, a Brooklyn resident, voiced his support for the former president saying, "President Trump, my man. One thing I want to say: they always gon’ whisper your accomplishments and shout your failures. Trump gon’ shout the wins for all of us," drawing cheers from the crowd.

On the other hand, Sleepy Hallow delivered a concise message to the crowd, stating, "Make America Great Again!"

Trump graciously thanked the rappers and reiterated his appreciation for Sheff G's flashy dental accessory, noting, "Thank you very much. I like those teeth. I got to find out where you did — I got to get my teeth like that. I want that to happen to me."

The ex-POTUS' appearance with these suspected gang members comes at a time when he is facing several legal troubles, including a trial in his New York hush money case.

He has repeatedly criticized New York and other Democrat-run cities for their high crime rates, accusing the Manhattan district attorney prosecuting him of allowing "violent crime to run rampant all over our city."

Sheff G, a 25-year-old rapper with millions of views on his songs and videos, is a central figure in a gang case brought by Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez in 2023. At the time, he was serving a separate sentence for attempted weapons possession.

Sleepy Hallow, 24, has nearly 11 million monthly listeners on Spotify. He faces conspiracy charges in the same gang case.

Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow are two of the 32 alleged members of the 8 Trey Crips and its affiliate, the 9 Ways gang, who are named in a 140-count indictment, which includes charges of assault and murder, as per a news release. Both rappers have pled not guilty to the charges.

While he was paroled in the arms case in June 2023, Sheff G was held in jail on the new charges until April of this year, when he was released on a bail of $1.5 million. Sleepy Hallow was released on a $200,000 bail in May 2023.

Internet reacts to Donald Trump saying he wants to get grills like that of Sheff G

As Trump praised Sheff G's dazzling jewel-encrusted grill, one said, "Man, this sounds like a wild mix of worlds colliding. Trump in the Bronx and talking about diamond grills? I can’t even picture that."

Another declared, "Trump loves criminals."

"The Orange Man with the Golden Grill. ONLY TRUMP 2024!" said a person, and someone else added, "By next week Trump will have 30% of the black vote."

One more joked, "I would stick to a comically oversized 'FJB' pendant, Mr. Trump. Bling is easier to remove." "Trump sportin a grill would be da bomb!!! He should wear it to the debate with potato," joked another person, hinting at his upcoming presidential debate with Joe Biden.

"The Don in the hood," jested an individual.
