Ana Maria Knezevich’s loved ones react to arrest
Sanna Rameau, a friend of Ana, expressed her relief at the news of an arrest in the case. "We are hoping that this next chapter will bring justice and we find answers to what has happened to Ana," she remarked.
According to a report, Ana's brother, Juan Henao, informed Fort Lauderdale police on February 7 about the couple's turbulent divorce proceedings, which involved significant financial stakes. He voiced his deep concern for his sister's well-being, mentioning that David had traveled to Serbia on January 17 but didn't specify the duration of his stay.
Furthermore, he called and texted David to know about Ana's whereabouts but to no avail. Juan claimed David replied back to him around 6 pm via ‘Whats [App]’ as if he was out of the country, telling Juan only that Ana was missing.
David had left Fort Lauderdale for Serbia several months prior to Ana's disappearance, amid their separation.
During this time, Ana had been spending a considerable amount of time in Europe with friends following discussions about divorce.

Ana and David jointly operated an IT company in South Florida and shared an interest in real estate ventures.
Rameau had previously characterized them as a "successful couple" who had been married for 13 years before deciding to separate last summer. "It was difficult for her, obviously, so she started spending more time in Europe, in Madrid, where she has friends from before," Rameau explained.
On February 3, Rameau received an unusual message from Ana, a day after suspecting that her friend had been "taken against her will." The WhatsApp message read, "He has a summer house about 2 [hours] from Madrid. We are going there now and I will spend a few days there. Signal is spotty. I'll call you when I get back."
In a follow-up message to Rameau, Ana added, "Yesterday after therapy I needed a walk and he approached me on the street! Amazing connection. Like I never had before."
