NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: During the latest episode of ABC’s ‘The View’, co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro poked fun at President Donald Trump on Monday, January 12.

They discussed Trump believing that Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado could transfer her Nobel Peace Prize to him during her upcoming visit to Washington, DC.

Goldberg explained in the segment that a Nobel Prize couldn't be revoked, shared, or transferred to others once announced.

Ana Navarro claims Maria Corina Machado seeks Trump's favor

During the latest episode of the talk show, the co-hosts discussed Donald Trump’s recent statement that he didn’t think anyone else was as worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize as him.

At the time, he had also said that he would be honored to accept the award if Maria Corina Machado were to offer it to him.

Whoopi Goldberg chimed in on Machado’s offer to share her 2025 award with President Trump during her recent appearance on ‘The Sean Hannity Show’.

She said that Trump had been “desperate” to get his hands on a Nobel Peace Prize for a while and that Machado offered to share hers with him for capturing former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

“The Nobel committee said that’s not going to happen,” Goldberg said

The result has been questioned by the opposition and internationally. She added that the committee was very clear and said that the decision about who would receive a Nobel Peace Prize was final and stood “from now until forever.”

Sunny Hostin jokingly asked Goldberg if that also meant she couldn’t share her Academy Award with her, while Alyssa Farah Griffin asked if she could have Goldberg’s Tony award.

Goldberg explained the difference between the awards she had received and the Nobel Peace Prize, and said that even if she gave them her awards, it wouldn’t be from the respective organizations.

Hostin commented on Machado’s offer to share her Nobel Prize with Trump and said that she wanted to share it with him because she wanted to be the president of Venezuela.

Ana Navarro said that she believed the ‘Hannity’ interview was previously arranged and nothing seemed impromptu about it.

“Who watches Fox News? Who watches Hannity? Donald Trump watches. I think that interview was for an audience, for one,” she added.

Nobel committee denies Machado's Peace Prize transfer

The Norwegian Nobel Committee and the Norwegian Nobel Institute issued a warning to Machado after her offer to share her Nobel Peace Prize with Donald Trump.

The institution issued a statement, in which it clarified that the transfer of a peace prize was not possible.

It also wrote that the Norwegian Nobel Committee had no say in what peace prize laureates would say or do after they had been awarded the prize.
