SANTA CRUZ, CALIFORNIA: Authorities have named the boyfriend of a California woman who once played in the experimental rock band Mr Bungle as the primary suspect after she was reported missing since early December.

Investigators soon found Herrmann’s car outside of her boyfriend Theo Brooks Lengyel’s home in El Cerrito, California, and said that “based on his actions, Theo Lengyel is a person of interest in Alice Hermann’s disappearance and has not cooperated with the police investigation.” Herrmann’s vehicle was described as a red 2007 Toyota Highlander SUV with license plate 5VAC944.

Investigators also noted that Lengyel, 54, is also believed to have driven from El Cerrito, California, to Portland, Oregon, “in the days following her disappearance.” Both his vehicle and Herrmann’s, which was discovered outside of Lengyel’s home, are now in police custody.

Authorities are tracking down Theo Brooks Lengyel's whereabouts

The El Cerrito Police Department said its investigators are working together with the Portland Police Department to continue tracking down Herrmann's and Lengyel’s whereabouts. The departments are asking residents in the area “who spend time in regional parks and open spaces to be on the lookout for anything suspicious that might lead to Alice’s whereabouts.”

Police have released a description of Theo Brooks Lengyel

Herrmann is described by police as a Pacific Islander woman who is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 135 lbs with hazel eyes and brown hair. Lengyel is described as a white man who is 5 feet 10 inches tall, 170 lbs with brown eyes and brown hair.

Lengyel also goes by the stage name 'My Stone' from his time playing saxophone, clarinet, and keyboards as a member of Mr Bungle from 1985 until 1996. The suspect was featured on the band’s first two albums before leaving the group which featured a core of other band members who shared members with popular 1990s rock acts like 'Slayer', 'Anthrax', and 'Faith No More.'

Theo Lengyel left the band on bad terms

In 2005, member Trevor Dunn said Lengyel had left on bad terms. “We unanimously decided to go on without him because he wasn’t growing with the rest of the band and we were running out of things for him to do,” Dunn reportedly wrote a fan during a Q&A. “He got pissed off and I haven’t heard from him since,” he added.
