EAU CLAIRE, WISCONSIN: Democratic Vice presidential nominee Tim Walz halted his speech abruptly when he noticed that a rallygoer needed help due to the extreme heat. The event unfolded while the Minnesota Governor addressed his supporters at a rally in  Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on Wednesday, August 7.

"Can we get somebody to help?" Walz asked someone after seeing an unwell crowd member standing to the podium's left under the hot Eau Claire sun, Raw Story reported.

"You okay? Drink some water, folks, it is hot out. Thank y'all. Can you get water?" the Democratic vice presidential pick asked a staffer. He also thanked everyone for helping and advised people to take care of each other amid the heat.

Vice President Kamala Harris, who entered the White House bid last month after President Joe Biden's historic exit, announced the Walz as her running mate on August 6.

Tim Walz reminds his supporters to take care of their neighbors

As the event turned silent while the rallygoer was being helped, Tim Walz informed other attendees that the person was getting aid. Furthermore, he used the incident to evoke a sense of caring and kindness among the people.

"I have to tell you all, again, in all seriousness, to come and gather like this to talk about our freedoms, the ability to talk about what could be good, and I have to say, this idea of caring for our neighbor and kindness and a hand up when somebody needs it, or just the sense that people go through things, and to be able to be there when they need it, that's who we are," Harris' running mate said.

"It's not about mocking, it's not about name-calling," he continued in an apparent swipe at the GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, who is infamous for his skill in giving nicknames to his opponents.

"You guys need some water too? We'll ask them. Can you see if they have some more water? That would be great," Walz asked other attendees and directed a staffer to distribute water to them.

"Take care of your neighbors," he advised the crowd.

Before entering politics, Walz served as a teacher and football coach for several years. He appeared alongside Harris for their first joint rally on the Democratic ticket at a Philadelphia rally on August 6.

Tim Walz hailed for helping rallygoers by halting his speech

Netizens praised Tim Walz for his compassion as he abruptly halted his speech, seeing a tired attendee and directing his staff to distribute water. Some users distinguished his behavior from Trump's, saying that the latter would not have the same quality.

"Tim Walz is America’s dad and the guy you want to have a beer with. Trump sent his supporters to the hospital in the heat. See the difference?" One social media user asked.

"Compassion and giving a damn about other people is how you do it. Wouldn't see this from Trump," another remarked.

"He paused immediately. Governors have dealt with the inevitable difficult and unexpected stuff that all states face at one point or another. Governors know what's it's like to have a degree of responsibility on their shoulders for people's safety when the unexpected occurs," one person remarked.

"Tim Walz is kind, a rare quality these days," read another response.

"A man of CLASS! He just can’t turn off that public servant in him! This is all the proof you need! Get out there and vote!!" one individual wrote.

"Empathy, compassion, being a good person. This man knows what it's all about," someone else added.

"This is a LEADER! @Tim_Walz This man since minute Zero has been shown us time and time again why he was the right pick for our country. @KamalaHQ @KamalaHarris Certain individuals in the Republican Party should take note…" one person wrote while praising Walz.

"That level of kindness and consideration is admirable unlike the other side who just rambles and rambles endlessly. Caring vs. Weird. Teachers win," another remarked.
