Timothy Henry: Florida man arrested after bizarre 911 call about 'dead body' and 'child inside his trees'
FLORIDA, UNITED STATES: After reporting 911 about something "suspicious" in his home, which later turned out to be a bag of golf clubs, a homeowner in Central Florida unexpectedly found himself in police custody.
Timothy Henry, aged 51 and residing in Lady Lake, called 911 last Saturday, asserting to have "knocked out an intruder," as stated in the arrest affidavit report.
Timothy Henry appeared mentally ill or intoxicated
Concerned, the man went on to inform the dispatchers about a "family that was flying in and out of state but didn't show up, a theft of a dog and a woman and child inside of his trees."
As per the arrest affidavit for Henry, dispatchers noted that he seemed to be experiencing a mental illness or intoxication, stating that he was "not making sense."
When summoned to his residence, deputies from the Sumter County Sheriff's Department were directed by Henry to enter through the garage.
He informed FOX 35 that he had engaged in a "fight with this individual and did not know if the individual was dead," explaining why he couldn't open the front door.
However, upon inspecting the front entrance, the officers discovered a large duffle bag containing a pair of golf clubs.
In addition to a variety of drugs and paraphernalia, law enforcement discovered 34 grams of marijuana and a vape pen filled with THC liquid scattered throughout the house.
Henry was taken into custody and charged with drug possession. He had to post bail before being released.
