Tom Holland’s dad celebrates his birthday with adorable video showing star ‘training’ as a baby
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tom Holland celebrated his 30th birthday on June 1 and to mark the special day, his father Dominic Holland posted a very special video of him from his infant days.
The rare family footage was shared on Instagram by his actor father that shows the baby Holland holding on to a clothesline-type rope with his hands while her mother, Nikki, carries him.
Tom Holland's dad says the actor was 'in training from day dot'
It seems Dominic was behind the camera as he can be heard saying, “Let go, then,” to which his wife replies, “Let him go?”
“Apparently they can hang on, you know. Yeah, apparently he can,” the 59-year-old adds. Dominic captioned the sweet memory as “Happy 30th Tom! In training from day dot.”
Tom Holland's to appear on big screen after four years
The heartwarming footage came as Holland is set to make a big return to the big screen with two major blockbusters — ‘The Odyssey’ and ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ — after being last seen in the 2022's ‘Uncharted’. Both the upcoming films also feature ‘The Impossible’ star’s fiancée Zendaya.
During a May interview with Empire, Holland spoke candidly about introducing new Spider heroes to the world someday.
He shared, “For whoever’s next, whether that is a Miles Morales or a Spider-Gwen or a Spider-Woman or something like that, I would love to be a part of setting up the next chapter.”
“Whatever that looks like, I don’t know. But if I could do what Downey did for me, then I would be so content swinging off into the sunset,” Holland, who joined the Spider-Man world in 2016 after Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, added.
Robert Downey Jr will now be seen as an iconic villain
Like the BAFTA-award winner, Downey Jr also boasts of a huge fanbase in the MCU world. He’s returned to the ‘Avengers’ franchise even after the death of his iconic character, Iron Man, in 2019's ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
He will reportedly be seen again in the new movie — ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ — as the villain Victor Von Doom.
In April, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feiger disclosed the reason behind bringing back the 61-year-old. He told Entertainment Weekly, “At the time, [Downey] was on his way to winning the Academy Award for Oppenheimer and there was every story about 'the greatest actor in the world,' and we thought, 'This could be it. Let's do it.’”
“It's our universe. It's a multiverse. We can do whatever the heck we want. He played the most iconic hero. Let's have him play the most iconic villain,” Feiger added.
