LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The recent call by conservative commentator Sean Hannity to abolish the use of teleprompters and cheat sheets during debates between President Biden and former President Trump has reignited the debate over scripted versus unscripted communication on the political stage.

Hannity’s assertion that there should be no teleprompters or cheat sheets at debates serves as a pointed jab at Biden, who has faced criticism for relying heavily on prepared scripts and teleprompters during his speeches.

However, Hannity remarked, “And while we're at it, there should be no notes, no teleprompters, Joe. In other words, Joe, you don't get giant cheat sheets telling you where to go.”

Biden made an embarrassing slip-up at a speech he gave at a trade union convention in Washington, DC, where he appeared to repeat script instructions while speaking off a teleprompter.

Despite the hiccup, Biden continued to deliver his message, including criticisms of former President Donald Trump's policies and a contrast between their economic approaches, dubbed the "Scranton" plan versus the "Mar-a-Lago" plan.

This teleprompter mix-up adds to a series of gaffes in Biden's public appearances, including a recent instance where he mistakenly stated that he and his party "can't be trusted" during a Florida campaign rally focused on abortion.

Social media trolls Sean Hannity over call to ban teleprompters

Social media users have been quick to react to Sean Hannity's call for unscripted debates between President Biden and former President Trump.

One user wrote,"Donald can’t speak without a teleprompter. Has @seanhannity seen his rallies?"

Another said, "Meanwhile, back in the real world, Sean Hannity is reading off a teleprompter saying this."

One user replied, "Hannity should give tRump that same advice."

One said, "Apparently Mr Hannity has never seen his dear leader deliver a speech. In front of Teleprompters. Two of them. At all times."

One added, "Hannity seems worried about this."

One user commented, "Hannity wont be able to whisper sweet nothings in loverboy trumps earpiece either!"

One troll said, "Sean prefers it when Trump talks out of his a** rambling incoherently."
