Kentucky Rep Andy Barr calls for printing Trump's face on $250 bill
Kentucky Rep Andy Barr wrote in a September 26 op-ed for the Substack publication, Washington Reporter, "Let us honor the president who has made America great again."
"A $250 bill bearing Donald J Trump’s image is not only an appropriate tribute—it is a powerful reminder that America’s best days are still ahead," Barr added.

In the op-ed Barr also mentioned, "On the world stage, President Trump is showing that American strength is the key to peace... No president has made a stronger case for the Nobel Peace Prize."
Trump has lobbied hard for the prize, claiming in his speech before the UN General Assembly on September 23, that he has ended seven wars.

Moreover, Republicans in Congress have rolled out a series of proposals to honor the president.
It includes rebranding the DC Metro as the "Trump Train", carving his sculpture into Mount Rushmore, and replacing Benjamin Franklin with Trump on the $100 bill.
Treasury Department defends its Trump $1 coin plan
The Treasury Department has defended its plans to honor Donald Trump with a $1 coin as the country prepares to commemorate its 250th anniversary.

The department said that the occasion allows the administration to get rid of a law that only allows individuals to appear posthumously on printed currency.
On an X post on Monday, October 6, the Treasury Department posted, "@SecScottBessent is honored to exercise the authorities granted to him by Congress via the Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act of 2020 to issue coinage “with designs emblematic of the United States semiquincentennial” reflecting @POTUS and his vision for America."

"On this momentous anniversary, there is no profile more emblematic for the front of this coin than that of our serving President, Donald J. Trump. Alongside @TreasurerBeach, we look forward to sharing more details soon," the statement read.
The act mentioned by the department outlines three programs for circulating new coins that celebrate the accomplishments of prominent women, "remarkable" events in our nation’s history, and youth sports.

However, it does not specifically reverse or cancel the 1866 law that prevents living people from appearing on currency.
Nevertheless, the administration is allegedly moving forward with designs and plans to print the $1 coin with an engraving of Trump next to the American flag.
