Trump blasted as Jan 6 cop Michael Fanone claims his mother was swatted after he spoke against ex-POTUS
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: A January 6 police officer alleged that a SWAT team was sent to his mother’s address on Tuesday, May 28, after he dubbed Donald Trump "an authoritarian" with "a violence fetish".
NBC News reported that multiple email addresses received a fake "manifesto" credited to Michael Fanone, claiming his mother’s life was taken and more people would be killed at a school that the retired cop went to over twenty years ago.
Michael Fanone slams email sender
Expressing his anger over the incident, Fanone said, “How dangerous is it to send law enforcement to an address in which you essentially are describing an active shooter, in which the only person present is a 78-year-old f---ing woman.”
“This is the reality of going up against or challenging Donald Trump. ... These swatting calls are incredibly f---ing dangerous, especially when the target is somebody like my mom,” he stated.
The law enforcement analyst added, “All I do is go out there and talk about what happened to me and so many other police officers like I always have, and this is the recourse. This is the direct result of that.”
Fairfax County police confirmed the incident via a statement that read, “Officers made contact with the resident, who was confirmed to be okay, following a suspicious email that we were made aware of thanks to our partners with the Montgomery County Police Department.”
“Detectives from our Threat Assessment Management (TAM) Unit are investigating the circumstances of this case and the swatting nature of the initial email,” it added.
Michael Fanone blames Donald Trump for Capitol riots
Earlier, Fanone blasted Donald Trump for the January 6 Capitol riots outside the Manhattan court where the ex-leader’s hush money trial is ongoing.
He alleged, “These supporters were fueled by Trump’s lies and the lies of his surrogates, lies that the 2020 election was stolen.”
“Those same lies have been spewed by Donald Trump and his surrogates about what happened to me and so many other police officers on Jan. 6, 2021, that day I was brutally assaulted,” the 43-year-old added.
Donald Trump and his supporters called ‘evil’ after Fanone's revelation
Meanwhile, people online supported Fanone and blasted Trump and his supporters over the swatting incident.
One social media user tweeted, “The depravity it takes to go to these lengths for an American traitor who is facing 90 indictments is truly astonishing.”
