WASHINGTON, D.C.: During his Wednesday, April 1, address to the nation, President Donald Trump cited US timelines from World Wars to Vietnam as he talked about the ongoing Iran war, which began more than two months ago.
The US along with Israel launched the war against Tehran on February 28, killing former Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei and several top Iranian officials. The attack also saw the deaths of some of Khamenei’s family members, a daughter, son-in-law, grandchild, and daughter-in-law.
At the time, Trump had declared, “Khamenei, one of the most evil people in History, is dead.”

Trump says Iran is 'no longer a threat'
Now in his around 19-minutes speech, the Republican leader continued to assert why the Iran war was necessary and how it’s not just important for America's security but also for the world.
He mentioned, “American involvement in World War I lasted one year, seven months and five days. World War II lasted three years, eight months and 25 days.”
“The Korean War lasted three years, one month and two days. The Vietnam War lasted 19 years, five months and 25 days. Iraq went on for eight years, eight months and 28 days,” Trump listed.
Trump then thrashed Iran and boasted that the US is currently involved in a “military operation—so powerful—and we have been in it for just 32 days, and the country has been… is really no longer a threat. They were the bully of the Middle East, and they are a bully no longer.”
Trump calls Iran war 'an investment in your children’s and grandchildren’s future'
The commander-in-chief also justified the war by calling it “an investment in your children’s and grandchildren’s future,” and noted, “The whole world is watching, and they cannot believe the power, strength and brilliance. They can’t believe what they are seeing—the brilliance of the United States military.”
“Every American can look forward to a day where we are free from the wickedness of Iranian aggression and the specter of nuclear blackmail. Because of the actions we are taking, we are on the cusp of ending Iran’s persistent threat to America and the world,” he claimed.
Trump once again reiterated that “the world is watching” and when the Iran war will end, the US “will be safer, stronger, more prosperous, and greater than it has ever been before.”
