WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA: Former president Donald Trump claimed that women in America would "no longer be thinking about abortion" if he won a second White House term in November.

The GOP presidential nominee's remarks at a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Saturday, September 21, was a repeat of his Truth Social rant a day before. Addressing supporters, Trump asserted how the current life of women differed from four years ago when he was in office and how his election victory would solve their problems.

Donald Trump painted a picture of happy days ahead for American women where they would not have to worry about abortion if he is elected in November, according to Raw Story.

"Women are poorer than they were four years ago, are less healthy than they were four years ago, are less safe on the streets than they were four years ago," the MAGA leader said in a swipe at his successor President Joe Biden's administration.

His lament about the situation of women continued, saying how they were paying more for groceries, how stressed, depressed, unhappy, and less optimistic than they were four years ago.

Trump further asserted, "Women will be happy, healthy, confident, and free. You will no longer be thinking about abortion because it is now where it always had to be, with the states."

In his all-caps Truth Social post, Trump made similar claims, boasting about how the overturning of Roe v Wade left the right to form abortion laws for individual states. According to him, the current state laws allow "powerful exceptions" and do not permit the Democrats to allegedly demand late-term abortion in the last trimester or after the child's birth.

The real estate mogul then declared, "I will protect women at a level never seen before."

Trump had often bragged about his role in the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v Wade in 2022.

The three conservative judges he appointed during his tenure upended the ruling that left abortion laws to states. As a result, at present, 22 states have banned abortion or enacted strict restrictions limiting the procedure to early weeks of pregnancy, as per The New York Times.

Abortion has taken center stage in the neck-to-neck race between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris as Democrats blame the present situation of reproductive rights on the 45th president, who in April declared he would not endorse a federal abortion ban if elected.

Internet outraged over Donald Trump's remark about women and abortion

Donald Trump's claims that women would "no longer be thinking about abortion" if he won in November sparked intense backlash online. Netizens demanded the former president to stop causing problems for women, accusing him of being the root cause of everything.

"Women don't need Donald Trump to fix their problems. They need Donald Trump to stop causing them problems!" a social media user wrote.

"Oh, thank goodness, ladies! You can stop thinking about your rights because Donald Trump is here to tell you what *really* matters—being poorer and less healthy! Next up: advice on how to keep your 1950s kitchen spotless. He’s deeply unserious, but deadly dangerous," another added sarcastically.

"Not since The Handmaid’s Tale has anyone tried to fool women into a worse life than Trump," stated one person.

"Don’t tell us women how WE feel, when it’s his fault in the first place…," another responded.

"This is the biggest lie of all," one individual remarked.

"Whoever wrote this for him is truly delusional, completely detached from reality. And dumb as hell to think it’ll wash," someone else wrote.

"THIS is probably the most obnoxious part. He's lying and showing absolutely zero understanding of women, along with taking zero responsibility for HIM making so many more unhealthy," another added.

"Trump is so totally weird & disgusting (and I have to say, so are his MAGA followers who enjoy his creepy BS)," one person commented.
