QUEENS, NEW YORK: President Donald Trump's longtime critic Bruce Springsteen attended the US Open on Sunday, September 7, at the Flushing Meadows–Corona Park in Queens, New York, where the POTUS was greeted with heavy cheers and boos.

The Republican leader was back in his native Queens, where he was joined by Attorney General Pam Bondi, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino, his son-in-law Jared Kushner, and granddaughter Arabella Kushner.

US Open witnesses several celebrities apart from Trump

Donald Trump's presence at the US Open men's singles final was divisive among fans, as many were delayed entering due to the increased security at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

However, several celebrities in attendance seemed not to notice the president in the Rolex suite.

Among them were Trump critics Springsteen and Spike Lee, who had all smiles at center court, while Lindsay Lohan and husband Bader Shammas canoodled in their own seats.

Springsteen told fans on his European Land of Hope & Dreams Tour in June that the POTUS was a "moron" whom he blamed for an "American tragedy." Trump responded and referred to the musician as the "Highly Overrated Bruce Springsteen."

Moreover, another Trump critic present on Sunday was Golden State Warriors legend Stephen Curry, accompanied by his wife Ayesha Curry.

In 2017, Curry and his teammates were disinvited from visiting the White House after winning an NBA title, as Trump was upset that they hesitated to accept his invitation.

Many other NBA stars were present, including New York Knicks teammates Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby, Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George, and Milwaukee Bucks forward Kyle Kuzma.

Notably, some major celebrity sports fans in attendance were Michael J Fox, Jerry Seinfeld, Al Roker, Jon Hamm, and long-time US Open fixtures, Anna Wintour, Martha Stewart, and Danny DeVito.

Trump's US Open arrival delays the match

Donald Trump’s arrival at the US Open men’s singles final on Sunday reportedly delayed entry for spectators, which resulted in long lines of frustrated fans and empty seats in the sprawling Arthur Ashe Stadium.

The final, which was played between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, started at 2.30 pm ET, half an hour later than its originally scheduled time due to "security measures in place" and to "ensure that fans have additional time to get to their seats", according to a post by the US Open on X (formerly Twitter).

The POTUS walked around to wave to the crowd at around 1.45 pm as the stadium was just about 10 percent full, and was met with a wave of cheers and boos.

Trump then took his seat at the Rolex box located at midcourt.

During the final, an announcer announced on air, "So many still waiting in security lines to get in, a lot of them were caught off guard ... not told to prepare for this."

Meanwhile, another announcer said, "That’s a bummer. These two are going at it," while referring to the two players.
