WASHINGTON, DC: The left-wing frenzy over President Donald Trump being a supposed "Russia asset" is on overdrive again—and this time simply because of a slip-up.

During a Cabinet meeting at the White House on Monday, March 24, the MAGA leader mistakenly said he "got activated last week" and now liberals are convinced he just confirmed his status as a Russian agent.

Trump has been all-in on slamming Ukraine lately, doubling down on his support for Russia after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shut down the idea of an immediate ceasefire. Now, social media is lit up with conspiracy theories thanks to this latest verbal blunder.

According to the Irish Star, a former Soviet intelligence officer once claimed Trump was recruited by the KGB back in 1987 and given the codename "Krasnov." And so "Russian collusion" is back in vogue among conspiracy theorists after the mere mention of "activated" was enough to send their tinfoil hats spinning.

Donald Trump's bizarre choice of words sends social media into a frenzy

Donald Trump was busy gushing over his billionaire advisor Elon Musk when he dropped the now-infamous phrase. The president praised the Tesla CEO for never asking for political favors.

"He has never asked me for a thing. He could have. I always say, 'I wonder if he is ever going to ask me for something?'" Trump mused.

Then he brought up his rollback of the electric vehicle mandate and took a moment to thank Musk for standing by him despite Tesla dealerships being under attack.

"I did get activated last week when I saw what they were doing," the 78-year-old declared. "I said he makes an incredible product and we’re going to go out and tell people you can’t do that stuff."

Of course, any regular person could tell he meant to say "agitated" and just misspoke. But that didn’t stop the usual suspects on X (formerly Twitter) from having a complete meltdown.

One wrote, "Did Donald Trump just see the quiet part out loud? At this press conference. He got activated last week," and another said, "IN THE CABINET MEETING TODAY TRUMP SAID HE WAS 'ACTIVATED'."

A person remarked, "So you guys voted for a Russian asset to destroy democracy," while someone else added, "Anyone surprised."

"FYI, Krasnov was activated in 2016. Russia knew how to use the ignorance of the American people and groomed Krasnov to it. It worked like a charm both times," an individual alleged.

Donald Trump's response to a question on Russian influence just made things worse

Donald Trump was later asked about allegations that some members of his Cabinet had been influenced by Russian propaganda. Instead of giving a straight "no," the president made things worse with his attempt at wordplay.

"Zelensky says he believes some members of your team have been influenced by Russian information. What do you say?" a reporter asked.

"Well, probably they have been influenced to get this thing settled. Ukraine wants to see it settled, Russia wants to see it settled," Trump responded.

And that was enough to send Trump critics into yet another tailspin. Instead of gleaning that Trump meant his team was being influenced to push for a peace deal, they were convinced he had just confirmed that his Cabinet is under direct Kremlin control.

This comes after Alnur Mussayev, a 71-year-old ex-KGB officer who once ran Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee, made some shocking claims on social media.

In a Facebook post, Mussayev reportedly claimed that the KGB had a whole operation focused on recruiting capitalist businessmen back in the 1980s—and that Trump was one of their top catches.

"In 1987, our directorate recruited Donald Trump under the pseudonym Krasnov," Mussayev wrote, without offering a shred of evidence.

He tossed in another wild claim.

"Today, the personal file of resident ‘Krasnov’ has been removed from the FSB. It is being privately managed by one of Putin’s close associates," Mussayev alleged.
