WASHINGTON, DC: Social media has been absolutely losing its mind over claims that President Donald Trump just installed a massive 200-foot statue of Jesus Christ right on the White House lawn.

The claim spread quickly as it was fueled by a viral video that racked up over 700,000 views on TikTok.

DORAL, FLORIDA - OCTOBER 07: Republican presidential nominee, former U.S. President Donald Trump, attends an Oct. 7th remembrance event at the Trump National Doral Golf Club on October 07, 2024 in Doral, Florida. The event was held to commemorate October 7th, 2023, when Hamas terrorists mounted a series of attacks and raids on Israeli towns near Gaza, killing 1,145 people and taking 251 hostages. Fact Check: Donald Trump did not erect the statue

The clip was first posted by the TikTok account @pectacularsights, showing what appeared to be workers installing a colossal statue of Jesus Christ right in front of the White House. The stunning visuals had people either cheering or losing their minds — depending on where they stood politically.

However, we can confirm that no such statue exists. Even X (formerly Twitter) had to step in with a community note under one of the viral posts, "This is untrue. According to the Live Webcam of the White House, no statue has been placed."

They even dropped a link to the live feed, proving that the White House lawn remains untouched.

While Trump isn’t shy about his religious rhetoric, a president can’t just erect a 200-foot religious monument on government property. The First Amendment’s Establishment Clause makes it clear that the government cannot endorse or promote a specific religion.

So even if Trump wanted to put up a massive statue of Jesus, legal challenges would shut that down faster than you can say “separation of church and state.”

That being said, presidents are allowed to have personal religious items in their private offices and living quarters. However, a 200-foot Jesus statue overlooking DC is not happening.

Internet continues to lose it over fake Jesus statue claims

Even though the claim was quickly debunked, that didn’t stop Donald Trump's supporters from celebrating the “news.”

"This 200 ft Jesus statue on the White House lawn is a powerful reminder that no matter who leads the nation Christ reigns forever," one social media posted on X.

"This is why I trust and respect Donald Trump and Melania Trump 200 foot Statue of Jesus Christ is being erected in the White House lawn America worships Jesus Christ Bring Jesus back into our lives America will change to a nation that Honors and Glorifies Jesus Christ. When you fear God You fear NOTHING in this world. Only Jesus," another commented.

"I'm so glad it is a beautiful statue and not him hanging on a cross! Perfect choice," someone else declared.

"Can you imagine how many people are gonna spit their coffee out hem the see this! This is Glorious!!! Glory be to God!!!" another added.

Some eventually caught up with the facts. "Hey …I fell for this earlier today…when I didn’t see more on it, I asked Grok. It’s fake and AI-generated!" read one comment.

"It would be awesome if this was for real but it's not. The left would be screaming if it were," another insisted.
