NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Donald Trump has responded to Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign, which has attempted to paint his election campaign with Senator JD Vance as "weird."

The Harris campaign has focused on controversial remarks by the former president and his vice presidential pick, including the GOP nominee's comments on Hannibal Lecter and the Ohio senator's past statements about people who do not have children, according to The Hill.

Donald Trump's rebuttal on the Democrats

During a Fox News interview on Tuesday, July 30, Laura Ingraham asked Donald Trump's opinion about these attacks by Kamala Harris' campaign.

The former president responded by accusing his critics of using “sound bites” like “Russia, Russia, Russia” and claims he is a “paid associate of [Russian President Vladimir Putin],”

“These people are crazy. And everything about them, look at Biden," he continued.

"He said he’ll challenge me to golf. I’m a very good golfer. He’s a terrible golfer. This guy can’t hit a ball 30 yards,” Trump added.

Donald Trump says Kamala Harris became a different person for 'political reasons'

Returning to the "weird" remarks, Donald Trump said, “Listen, this whole thing is a con job. ‘Just plain weird.’ Do you know who is plain weird? She’s plain weird."

“She’s a weird person. Look at her past. Look at what she does," he said of Harris.

“And look at what she used to say about herself, and I won’t get into it, what she used to say and who she was compared to, what she said starting at about 2016. She became a totally different person. Only for political reasons,” he told Ingraham.

Sen JD Vance shrugs off Kamala Harris' campaign criticism

In a separate Fox News interview on Sunday, July 29, JD Vance also addressed the criticism as he said he was not bothered by the insult.

“Look, the price of admission — meaning, the price of getting to serve the people of this country — is the Democrats are going to attack us with everything that they have. I think it’s an honor,” explained the senator.

Internet mocks Donald Trump calling Kamala Harris 'weird person'

As Donald Trump responded to Kamala Harris' campaign's criticism by saying the vice president is a "weird person," netizens mocked the former president for his jabbing remarks.

"Is that all he’s got ? Pretty lame for such a criminal genius," wrote a user on X (formerly Twitter).

Another person tweeted, "He couldn't come up with his own word. Like a kid saying 'you're dumb' & the other kid saying 'no..you're dumb' the back yo the first 'will you're double dumb.'"

"Trump strikes with the classic 'I know you are but what am I?' comeback," a netizen commented.

Someone else penned, "So his latest attack line is ... I'm not weird. You're the one who's weird!? That's not weird. That's just sad."

"Full marks to Donald Trump for original thinking," a netizen remarked while another individual tweeted, "It's not gonna work. You can't just steal the Democrats' best insult and use it against them."
