Trump impressed when interviewer asks if presidency is like fatherhood: ‘I love this country’

WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump was taken aback when British presenter Bev Turner threw him a curveball no one had ever asked him before.

During their sit-down at the White House, GB News’s Turner praised his parenting resume and asked whether running the free world is anything like raising children.

“The president is a bit like being a good father, tough love, clear boundaries... Does it ever occur to you how much the role is like being a father?” she asked. 



“I can’t believe I am getting a question I have never thought of, and never been asked before,” Trump said. “I love this country. I love the people of this country.”

During the interview, Trump accused the BBC of sinking to new lows and said he had an "obligation" to sue the network.

Calling the broadcaster’s conduct "beyond fake" and "corrupt," the president vowed to move forward with legal action over the way the BBC edited one of his January 6 speeches.

The broadcaster admittedly stitched together moments nearly an hour apart to make it appear as though he had told supporters he was marching with them to the Capitol to “fight like hell.”



Lawyers representing the president had already threatened the network with a $1 billion lawsuit earlier in the week, prompting the BBC to issue an apology for what it called an "error of judgment."

But Trump wasn’t letting them off the hook. He told GB News, "I'm not looking to get into lawsuits, but I think I have an obligation to do it. This was so egregious. If you don't do it, you don't stop it from happening again with other people. I'd like to find out why they did it."

Trump also told Turner that the Europe he remembers is essentially gone due to waves of mass migration and what he views as harmful fiscal policies.

He said, "I'm saddened to see what happened in Europe with the immigration. I think above all else, the immigration, but the bad taxing policies. When you look at, you know, Europe is not the same place. I can't say every place, but pretty much almost every place. There are a couple of places."



Trump couldn’t resist tearing into London Mayor Sadiq Khan once again. “Your mayor is a disaster, I can tell you. If you put him there, I wouldn't even know who he was. He's a disaster, he's a nasty person, and he's letting crime go right up," the president said.

Trump cited reports claiming that police avoid certain neighbourhoods and suggesting that some areas operate under “Sharia Law.

"You have Sharia law where they don't even want to obey the laws of your country, and you have much worse conditions," he alleged, adding, “He's a terrible mayor. Look at the crime you have in London. My mother loved London, she loved that city, but that was a different London than today."
