Mark Ruffalo backs War Powers vote on Iran strike
Ruffalo made it very clear that he does not believe the president has the authority to act alone, stating, "Trump is no King."
His main point is that Congress has a duty to discuss the pros and cons of going to war rather than allowing the executive branch to decide on its own. He is backing Representative Ro Khanna’s plan, who stated on social media, "He can’t without Congress. Rep Thomas Massie and I have a War Powers Resolution to debate & vote on war before putting US troops in harm’s way. I will make a motion to discharge to force a vote on it next week."

He pointed to past conflicts such as Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the situation in Palestine as examples, calling them "disasters of war" that the US should learn from rather than repeat.
Ruffalo also expressed frustration, describing these conflicts as "a bloody stain on America’s soul," while stating, "every one an amoral disaster of weapons manufacturer’s making."
