WASHINGTON, DC: Actor Mark Ruffalo called out Joe Rogan for what he sees as a case of too little, too late. In a pointed social media post, the 'Avengers' star mocked the podcast giant for belatedly criticizing President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.

Rogan recently called the workplace raids “insane” on 'The Joe Rogan Experience,' but Ruffalo wasn’t having it. The Trump administration launched immigration enforcement earlier this year, culminating in sweeping operations across Southern California in June.

The raids triggered massive protests, National Guard deployment in Los Angeles, and a surge in arrests, jumping from hundreds to thousands daily across the country.

Mark Ruffalo slams Joe Rogan’s delayed outrage over Donald Trump’s ICE raids

As a video of Joe Rogan discussing Donald Trump’s ICE raids went viral online, actor Mark Ruffalo took to Instagram Threads to question whether the podcast host was “smart” or “dumb” for his delayed criticism.

Ruffalo wrote, "Dear Joe Rogan. It’s a little late now to pretend like Project 2025 didn’t exist and wasn’t the playbook all along. You are either not that smart or not that dumb. It’s hard to tell at this point."

Rogan, who endorsed Trump just before the 2024 election and interviewed him during the campaign, voiced his concerns about the president's immigration raids targeting construction sites and other workplaces during a recent conversation with Replit CEO Amjad Masad.

On the July 2 episode, Rogan said, "We were told there would be no, well, there’s two things that are insane. One is the targeting of migrant workers. Not cartel members, not gang members, not drug dealers. Just construction workers. Showing up in construction sites, raiding them. Gardeners. Like, really?"

Mark Ruffalo, a vocal progressive activist and US-born actor, rallied against the administration’s immigration policies during the “No Kings” protest in New York City on June 14. Wearing a hat boldly labeled “immigrant,” he passionately highlighted the vital contributions immigrants make to America.

Ruffalo accused Trump and conservative leaders of scapegoating migrants for problems caused by the country’s majority population and wealthy elites.

Speaking to the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC), he emphasized, “Well, we’re seeing what’s happening. First of all, we’re understanding that the immigrants aren’t the criminals. If you look at the statistics, most of the crimes committed in this country are by White people, non-immigrants."

He called on people to unite and take back the nation from the influence of billionaires, urging collective action to restore fairness and justice.

Internet divided after Mark Ruffalo mocks Joe Rogan’s late Donald Trump critique

After Mark Ruffalo mocked Joe Rogan for his delayed criticism of Trump, internet users quickly reacted with mixed opinions; some supported Ruffalo’s stance, while others came to Rogan’s defense.

One user wrote, "Rogan needs listeners, not Trump." Another added, "Dear @markruffalo, your dedication during these challenging times for the United States is truly inspiring. With love from Italy."

A commenter on Threads shared, "Joe Rogan is pulling it back because he was losing followers. That's the only reason he's done an about-turn. He was on the Trump boat, helping steer it. He's a pr1ck!"

A Facebook user quipped, "It's obvious that over the past few weeks, Rogan has realized what a huge mistake he made." Another person slammed Rogan, "Rogan is dumb. He’s just glad he’s making money off it."

A fan of Ruffalo added, "Mark, thank you for making the world a better place!"

Another echoed, "Good for you Mark! Joe either promoted Trump’s agenda because he was stupid or for ratings. Either way he’ll forever be on the wrong side of history and contributed to what comes next for the underprivileged."
