AUSTIN, TEXAS: Joe Rogan differs from President Donald Trump on his administration's deportation spree and believes that people who are not criminals are "getting lassoed up and deported".

The 'Joe Rogan Experience' host is worried that legal migrants could also be wrapped up in the Trump administration’s deportation spree, according to Daily Beast.

Joe Rogan believes legal immigrants could be deported in Trump administration’s deportation spree

During the March 29 episode of the 'Joe Rogan Experience', the host praised Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration.

However, he expressed worries at the news that the administration deported a gay Venezuelan asylum-seeker along with suspected members of the Tren de Aragua gang.

Rogan said during the podcast, "You got to get scared that people who are not criminals are getting lassoed up and deported and sent to El Salvador prisons."

He added, "It’s horrific. It’s horrific."

Notably, a 31-year-old gay Venezuelan make-up artist named Andry sought asylum in the United States but was deported to El Salvador without due process.

Lindsay Toczylowski, Andry’s attorney and founder of the Immigrant Defenders Law Center, stated that the make-up artist had no criminal history and was wrongfully deported in March on the belief that he was part of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.

Interestingly, immigration officials reportedly thought that the tattoos Andry had were a symbol of gang affiliation. However, Toczylowski denied this and informed MSNBC that they are "normal tattoos that you would see on anybody at a coffee shop anywhere."

Toczylowski also stated that her client was sent to El Salvador’s Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT), which is known for its harsh living conditions.

During the podcast, Joe Rogan said, "This is the thing, you know, measure twice, cut once. This is kind of crazy."

He added, "That’s bad for the cause. The cause is: Let’s get the gang members out. Everybody agrees. But let’s not get innocent gay hairdressers lumped up with the gangs?"

Meanwhile, another Venezuelan asylum-seeker, Franco Jose Caraballo, who was a barber, was also reportedly deported to CECOT despite having no criminal record, per CBS News.

Rogan said, "How long before that guy can get out? Can we figure out how to get them out? Is there any plan in place to alert the authorities that they’ve made a horrible mistake and correct it?"

He prompted his guest, political commentator Konstantin Kisin, to reply that the government isn’t likely to admit that it may have made a mistake.

Kisin said, "That’s the thing about politics, right? Never admit your fault. Never admit you’re wrong."

Rogan added, "It’s so dumb. And this is the thing we’re seeing with the Signal thing, and this is the thing we’re seeing with this. It’s like, I don’t know if it’s been brought to their attention."

He added, "I mean, I would assume someone’s alerted them to the fact that they might have rounded up this just random hairdresser and accused him of being a gang member."

Joe Rogan doesn't identify himself as Republican or Democrat

In January 2025, Joe Rogan said that he does not identify himself as a Republican or a Democrat, per Mediaite.

He said on his podcast, "I don’t consider myself a Republican. I don’t consider myself a Democrat, either."

He continued, "I consider myself an American. ’m a human being and there’s a lot of things that the Democrats believe that I believe too."

He further added, "There’s a lot of things that they say that I say, that makes a lot of sense to me. And there’s a lot of things that the Republicans say where that makes a lot of sense to me too."

"And the idea that I have to ignore things that make sense to me because it’s coming from the wrong team is just stupid," Rogan mentioned.

Interestingly, Rogan attended Donald Trump’s inauguration in January and called it "bizarre".
