LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As military troops flood the streets of Los Angeles in response to President Donald Trump’s controversial immigration crackdown, some of Hollywood’s most influential voices are raising the alarm using their platforms.

Protests, ignited by a wave of ICE raids, have swept across California and beyond. With the president deploying thousands of National Guard troops and Marines, public outrage has intensified, and so has celebrity condemnation.

From musicians and directors to actors and activists, high-profile names called out what they see as a dangerous overreach of power, reports the Irish Star.

The 'Avengers' star delivered a scathing message on Instagram, criticizing Americans who support deporting immigrants while ignoring the industries and political elites exploiting them.

“You want to get rid of the people who are picking your food, without a care in the world for who is poisoning your bodies with chemicals that aren’t meant to ever be in nature. You want to drive out those who make your life easier but do not question those who dull your minds with lies?” Ruffalo wrote.

He labeled the president a “grifter” and urged followers not to point “guns in the wrong direction.”

During her BET Awards acceptance speech, Doechii condemned Donald Trump’s use of military force to silence dissent. “There are ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities,” she said, warning that using force against peaceful protests is a hallmark of authoritarian regimes.

“I want y'all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us. What type of government is that?” the 'Alter Ego' hitmarker noted.

She also stated that it was her “responsibility as an artist to use this moment to speak up for all oppressed people.”

Musician and record producer Finneas, who joined demonstrators in downtown LA, described being tear-gassed at what he called a peaceful protest. “Tear gassed almost immediately at the very peaceful protest downtown — they’re inciting this,” Finneas wrote on a now-disappeared Instagram Story, criticizing law enforcement tactics and sharing firsthand footage from the scene.

Model and cookbook author Chrissy Teigen slammed Donald Trump’s plans for a military parade on his birthday, June 14, calling it a “$45 million dollar birthday party.” Teigen encouraged her 41 million followers to join nationwide protests, saying the president was using the Army’s anniversary as a smokescreen.

“The White House says the parade is to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States Army, which just happens to fall on the same day as Trump’s birthday. Rubbish. Trump wants a big military parade on his birthday and is using the anniversary as a pretext,” she added.

"How ironic that the Continental Congress originally established an Army, headed by George Washington, to fight against the very tyranny that Trump espouses. Trump is acting like a king by defying the courts, issuing arbitrary decrees, disregarding checks and balances," Teigen noted.

Filmmaker Ava DuVernay documented the chaos in downtown LA, posting that peaceful protesters were being assaulted with tear gas and non-lethal rounds.

“I’m witnessing tear gas and non-lethal rounds being unleashed on peaceful protesters in DTLA. People of all ages and stripes from all over the city, raising their voices. And being treated worse than January 6 terrorists,” she wrote in a now-disappeared Instagram Story.

She also shared a self-recorded video on Instagram, where she said the mass deportations are “hard to watch” and described them as “inhumane.”
