WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump took a direct jab at ex-Vice President Kamala Harris after learning of her upcoming memoir, '107 Days', which recounts her failed 2024 presidential campaign.
During a press conference on Thursday, July 31, Trump mocked Harris’ political skills and communication abilities, delivering the criticism just hours after reintroducing the Presidential Fitness Test for school children.
The book, which will be released in September by Simon & Schuster, promises a behind-the-scenes look at Harris’ brief presidential bid following Joe Biden’s abrupt exit from the 2024 race. But Trump’s reaction quickly stole attention, as he questioned her competence and campaign strategy.

When asked about Kamala Harris’ newly announced book, Trump responded with sarcasm. “I would love to buy, no,” he said.

He then followed up with a more scathing critique: “She can't speak. She can't talk. She can't do an interview. I wouldn't call her a skilled politician. Would you? She wasn't a skilled person.”

“Well, she can't speak. She can't talk. She can’t do an interview. She was a terrible candidate. I wouldn't call her a skilled politician.”

Trump didn’t stop there. “You know, you have skilled politicians, and you have some that aren't. You know what happened? People said, 'What's wrong with her?' She didn't run a great campaign. I had to beat two. But, where are we? We're in the White House!"

The remarks came amid Trump’s renewed push to promote fitness and school programs, but quickly shifted the focus to Harris and her new memoir.
Kamala Harris reflects on short campaign in upcoming memoir
Hours earlier, Kamala Harris had unveiled the details of '107 Days', a book chronicling what she described as the shortest presidential campaign in modern history. Harris, who stepped in as the Democratic nominee after Joe Biden withdrew with just over 100 days remaining before the election, offered a personal reflection in a video shared online.

“Just over a year ago, I launched my campaign for president of the United States, 107 days - traveling the country, fighting for our future - the shortest presidential campaign in modern history,” she said.
Harris added that the book was written with “candor and reflection” and aimed to give voters an inside view of the challenges she faced during the fast-paced and ultimately unsuccessful campaign.

Kamala Harris also confirmed this week that she will not run for governor of California in 2026, amid speculation about her next political move. However, she has not ruled out a potential 2028 presidential bid.

In the video, Harris emphasized perseverance: “Sometimes, the fight takes a while.”
She is also set to appear Thursday night on 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert', one of the leading late-night talk shows in the US, which CBS recently announced will end its run next year.
