Trump pokes fun at Democrats over election debt as he recommends 'whatever help' for unity's sake
WASHINGTON, DC: President-elect Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Saturday, November 9, to poke fun at the Democratic Party's financial woes following their costly 2024 campaign.
Trump referenced the Democrats' record-breaking fundraising efforts in the last presidential election cycle, mocking the party for not retaining a surplus of funds despite its achievements.
Kamala Harris reportedly raised $1 billion, yet Democrats face $20 million in debt
Donald Trump hinted at Kamala Harris' fundraising success, reportedly setting records with $1 billion raised during an extraordinary quarter, according to The New York Times.
Despite Harris' substantial fundraising for the 2024 campaign, Newsweek reports that her efforts ultimately ended with "at least $20 million in debt."
Trump seized on this report, writing, "I am very surprised that the Democrats, who fought a hard and valiant fight in the 2020 Presidential Election, raising a record amount of money, didn’t have lots of $'s left over."
He continued, “Now they are being squeezed by vendors and others.”
Matthew Boyle of Breitbart News Network weighed in, tweeting on November 6, "The $20 million debt thing is real."
Boyle's post cited an anonymous Harris campaign staffer who claimed that Rob Flaherty, Harris' deputy campaign manager, was "currently shopping around the Kamala fundraising email list to anyone who wants it to try to raise the money back."
Ok so this just got very explosive. A Kamala campaign staffer who saw these posts called me just now and said there is a massive scandal here worthy of an audit.

Donald Trump suggests offering Democrats 'whatever help for unity'
In his Truth Social post, Donald Trump added a tongue-in-cheek recommendation for his own party, encouraging them to provide "whatever we can do to help them during this difficult period," suggesting this would benefit "desperately needed unity."
His comments highlighted the contrast between his own campaign's resources and the financial state of the Democrats.
Politico’s Christopher Cadelago also reported that Harris' campaign concluded with $20 million in debt, "as per two sources familiar."
He noted that Harris had $118 million in cash as of October 16.

Donald Trump claims ‘Earned Media’ as a financial advantage in his own campaign
In a final jab, Donald Trump highlighted the financial strength of his own campaign.
He asserted that they had "a lot of money left over."
He said, "In that, our biggest asset in the campaign was 'Earned Media,' and that doesn’t cost very much."
Trump added several publicity-style stops to his campaign trail, notably his interviews on popular podcasts such as Joe Rogan, Theo Von, Andrew Schulz, and the Nelk Boys.
