WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump on Sunday, January 4, praised tech billionaire Elon Musk and said he is a 'well-meaning person' after having dinner with him at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump showered his praises on the Tesla CEO while answering a question from a reporter on Air Force One who asked the POTUS about Elon Musk being back in the fold.

Trump says Elon Musk is '80 percent super genius'

During a Q&A session with reporters on Air Force One, a reporter asked Donald Trump, "Is Elon Musk back in the fold? You had dinner with him last night."

"Elon is great. I say about Elon, he is 80 percent super genius, and 20 percent he makes mistake," Trump said, adding, "He is a good guy. He is a well-meaning person."

The SpaceX founder on Sunday took to X and shared a picture of his dinner night with the POTUS and First Lady Melania Trump. He captioned it, "Had a lovely dinner last night with @POTUS and @FLOTUS. 2026 is going to be amazing!"

The friendly dinner came just a few days after Musk seemed to confirm recent reports he has resumed funding Republican politicians heading into the 2026 midterm elections.

Musk wrote on X, "America is toast if the radical left wins. They will open the floodgates to illegal immigration and fraud. Won’t be America anymore." He also shared a clip of him nodding his head after President Donald Trump patted him on the arm at a recent event at the White House.

The post mentioned the tech billionaire is 'reportedly going all-in funding Republicans to help President Trump take back full control' in the 2026 midterms.

Trump, Elon Musk get loud applause as they celebrate Venezuela strikes

President Trump and Elon Musk were seen appearing together at Mar-a-Lago, where they received loud applause while walking through the dining room just hours after the United States carried out strikes targeting sites linked to Venezuela’s Nicolás Maduro regime.

The clip that went viral on social media shows Trump walking ahead through the dining area, with Musk nearby, as diners clap, cheer, and raise their phones to record the moment.

The POTUS and the tech billionaire were seen greeting people as they moved through the room, with sustained applause following them.

The clip was shared on X via a post that read, "HELL YES! @ElonMusk and President Trump had dinner together at Mar-a-Lago tonight. And they received a HUGE applause walking through the dining room."

Interestingly, the post framed the appearance as symbolic, adding that the two figures could form a 'power team' if they work together.
