WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump praised the youngest White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, 28, during a Women's History Month event, calling her “perhaps the best press secretary in history.” He also shared humorous remarks about her role while speaking at the event. Leavitt, also a former Trump campaign spokesperson, has handled high-profile briefings since taking office.

Trump hailed Karoline Leavitt for her work and joked about how she keeps him in line. He called her “the youngest and perhaps the best White House press secretary in history,” before adding, “Where is Karoline? Doing a fantastic job, Karoline.”

He then mentioned how she often reminds him what he can and cannot do. “She keeps saying, ‘Sir, you can’t do that. You can’t do this.’ I can’t do anything,” he joked.

Trump added that life might be more exciting without her guardrails while commending her work. “Life would be so much more exciting, wouldn’t it? Thank you, Karoline—great!”

In October 2025, Trump applauded Karoline Leavitt's work as White House press secretary and commented on her speaking style. On October 13, while leaving Israel on Air Force One, Trump answered questions from reporters on the plane.

Leavitt stood nearby. While responding to a question about his international diplomacy, Trump suddenly asked about her: “How’s Karoline doing? Is she doing good? Should Karoline be replaced?”

When reporters expressed support for her, Trump assured them that replacing her would “never happen.” He then added, “That face… and those lips, they move like a machine gun.”

Trump had made similar remarks about Leavitt, the youngest White House press secretary in history, during an August interview with Newsmax. When host Rob Finnerty asked for his opinion, Trump praised both her work and her communication skills.

“She’s become a star,” Trump said during the interview.

He then asked off-camera, “Is she in the room?” Finnerty confirmed she was. Trump added, “She’s a star, and she’s great. I don’t think anybody has ever had a better press secretary than Karoline. She’s been amazing.”

Karoline Leavitt’s rise through Trump’s political ranks

Leavitt served as Trump’s national press secretary during his 2024 campaign, which led to her appointment as White House press secretary in January.

She first joined Trump’s team right after college in 2019, working in the White House Office of Presidential Correspondence.

She later became associate director of that office before moving to the White House communications team as an assistant press secretary. After Trump’s first term ended in 2021, Leavitt worked as communications director for New York Rep Elise Stefanik. She also ran for Congress in New Hampshire in 2022 but lost to Democratic Rep Chris Pappas.
