Trump slammed for 'breaking royal protocol' by sharing Kate Middleton and King Charles' health updates
LONDON, ENGLAND: Donald Trump has reportedly got Buckingham Palace in jitters as several courtiers feel the president-elect has broken royal protocol.
According to sources speaking to Radar Online, the 78-year-old upcoming Commander-in-Chief broke the royal protocol by publicly talking about the cancer struggle of King Charles and Kate Middleton after having a private meeting with Prince William.
The latest sources indicate that courtiers have been left extremely unimpressed by Trump’s candid comments about the monarch and the health of the Princess of Wales.
Donald Trump ‘stunned’ Buckingham Palace with his speech
"The palace media team has been left stunned by Trump,” shared a palace official with the outlet recently.
They explained, “The press offices for the royal family have only released a handful of carefully worded health updates on King Charles and Kate following their cancer diagnoses earlier this year.”
Earlier this year in February, the palace revealed that King Charles was undergoing treatment after he was diagnosed with cancer when he went through corrective procedures for an enlarged prostate.
Later in March, the Princess revealed she was undergoing preventive chemotherapy as well for her cancer diagnosis. In September, Kate shared that she had completed her cancer treatment, and was recently seen during her annual Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey,
However, all the information about the two senior royals’ health has now come through their official statements. Thus, Trump talking about their health in public left several courtiers frowning.
"Basically all Prince William has said publicly is that his wife and father are 'doing well'. Now the elaborate effort to maintain the royals’ privacy may have been compromised by Trump, one of the world’s biggest gossips,” complained the source while speaking to the outlet.
Referencing Queen Elizabeth’s iron-clad administration when the royal family secrets were fiercely guarded, the source added, “The Queen would be spinning in her grave at his unsanctioned and injudicious words.”
To highlight the level of secrecy the royal protocol decrees, the insider added, "While Kate revealed in a handful of heavily produced social-media posts that she has completed preventative chemotherapy, the public still does not know what type of cancer she has.”
“The palace has not disclosed what cancer Charles has or what treatments he’s undergoing,” continued the source before adding, “Both of the senior royals have mostly returned to regular duties which is an indication of them continuing to respond well to their treatment plans."
Donald Trump gushes about meeting Prince William in Notre Dam
As the world leaders gathered for the reopening of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris over the weekend, Trump had a lengthy chat with Prince William. Following their initial meeting at the reopening, the Prince of Wales and Trump met one-on-one at the UK ambassador's residence.
Trump later gushed about meeting the 42-year-old future monarch, and said, "I had a great talk with the prince. And I asked him about his wife and he said she's doing well.”
He further continued, "And I asked him about his father and his father is fighting very hard, and he loves his father and he loves his wife, so it was sad.”
"We had a great talk for half an hour, a little more than half an hour,” revealed the politician before noting, “We had a great, great talk."
Trump, who was almost “paternal” to Prince William, further gave compliments to the father-of-three for his beard that he has been sporting for the last few months.
"He’s a good-looking guy. He looked really, very handsome last night," added Trump before praising, "Some people look better in person? He looked great. He looked really nice, and I told him that."
Apart from Prince William, Trump also met French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. First Lady Jill Biden was also in attendance to represent the United States who was spotted talking with the incoming president.
