ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Former President Donald Trump called his successor Joe Biden a "bad Palestinian" while criticizing the president's handling of the Israel-Hamas war.

The 45th president came up with the remark during the first presidential debate hosted by CNN in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 27, where both candidates clashed on various issues ranging from foreign policy, immigration, abortion, and the economy.

The first face-off between Biden and Trump in the 2024 election year also saw both spewing personal insults at each other.

During the 90-minute-long debate, Biden outlined his administration's efforts for a cease-fire in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and claimed Hamas was preventing a deal from being reached, according to The Hill.

Trump says Biden is a 'bad Palestinian'

The Republican presumptive nominee disagreed with Biden's argument that Hamas was keeping the cease-fire deal from being reached.

"Israel is the one. And you should let them go and let them go finish the job. He doesn't want to do it," Trump asserted. "He's become like a Palestinian, but hey, they don't like him because he's a very bad Palestinian. He's a weak one."

Biden quickly retorted Trump's accusations, stating, "I've never heard so much foolishness."

In late May, the octogenarian laid out a comprehensive three-phase plan to pause the fighting that included the Israeli military's withdrawal from Gaza's populated regions and the release of remaining hostages under Hamas' captive.

Biden attempted to find a balance in his support to the Jewish ally after the Palestinian death toll crossed tens of thousands. His initial refusal to criticize Israel met with criticism from the Democratic Party's left wing that caused a dent in his primary vote share in states like Michigan, where many chose to vote "uncommitted."

Similarly, the president faced the wrath of youth after campuses across the US protested in support of Palestine in the past months.

On the other hand, Trump took a critical stance against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In an April interview with Time Magazine, the former president said that Netanyahu "rightfully has been criticized for what took place."

Internet blasts Trump for calling Biden a 'bad Palestinian'

Netizens condemned the MAGA spearhead for claiming that Biden has "become like a Palestinian," during the debate.

"Disgusting rhetoric," a user wrote. Another remarked, "This is a new low for Trump."

"This is what dehumanization does," added a third user.

"The fact that people like them are allowed to run for president honestly is absolutely disturbing," read a fourth response.

"This is completely nonsensical. I can't even believe this is real life. My God," another person wrote.

"Here we go again with the unbearable nonsense. The fact that Trump is back again is such a huge failure and shows what a hot load of shit this whole system really is," someone else opined.

"I honestly can't believe this was said and neither of the other three people with a microphone in that room said a single thing. I mean, I can believe it. But what the hell? That was just such an insanely racist thing to say," an individual added.

"There’s been a lot of Trump revisionist history lately like 'he wasn’t that bad, what did he do?' That man is horrible, I wouldn’t have him lead me down a sidewalk," another user chimed in.
