WASHINGTON, DC: In a complaint to the Federal Election Commission, the Trump campaign accused Vice President Kamala Harris of participating in the "largest campaign finance violation in American history" about her effort to utilize political funds given to President Joe Biden

Trump campaign general counsel David Warrington wrote in a grievance to the FEC, "Kamala Harris is seeking to perpetrate a $91.5 million dollar heist of Joe Biden’s leftover campaign cash — a brazen money grab that would constitute the single largest excessive contribution and biggest violation in the history of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971," theNew York Post reports.

The 81-year-old President's main campaign committee officially changed its name to Harris for President. Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and the group's treasurer were all mentioned in the complaint.

Moreover, it called the attempt to give Harris the $91.5 million still in Biden's campaign account "fraudulent" and a "mockery of our campaign finance laws".

According to Warrington, Kamala Harris cannot "take over Joe Biden's candidacy" or "acquire control of his campaign" by merely changing paperwork on file with the FEC.

Warrington also asserted that Harris' failure to submit a statement of candidacy including Biden for President as one of her approved groups renders her ineligible to inherit Biden's war chest.

Citing Harris as a "separate individual candidate competing for the Democratic Party's nomination", the complaint argues that the money transfer to the vice president represents a "massive excessive contribution from Biden for President."

Warrington’s letter concluded stating, "The Commission must immediately find reason to believe and quickly end this ongoing violation."

However, Charles Lutvak, a spokesperson for the Harris campaign, referred to the accusation as "baseless".

Lutvak said in a statement, "Team Harris will continue to build on our more than 250 coordinated offices and more than 1,300 coordinated staffers across the battleground states – just like we built on the $240 million cash on hand that we had at launch this week, raising $100 million in our first 36 hours and signing up 58,000 volunteers."

He added, "Republicans may be jealous that Democrats are energized to defeat Donald Trump and his MAGA allies, but baseless legal claims – like the ones they’ve made for years to try to suppress votes and steal elections – will only distract them while we sign up volunteers, talk to voters, and win this election."
