WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump took a jab at federal agents on Monday, August 25, accusing them of invading Barron Trump’s personal space during the Mar-a-Lago raid in 2022.

The FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago three years ago was part of an investigation into the alleged mishandling of classified documents, an inquiry that was later dropped.

Trump says what federal agents did 'was a disgrace'

During a meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, Trump was asked whether more raids could follow after agents searched former National Security Advisor John Bolton's Maryland home on August 22.

A reporter asked, "Are more raids like the one on John Bolton's house coming?"

"I don't know. You'd have to ask the Department of Justice," Trump replied. He added, "They raided my house, I can tell you that. They did a big raid on my house," referring to the dropped investigation against him.

Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing, branding the investigation a "witch hunt."

On August 25, he claimed agents "took away everything that wasn't pinned down, and they took some of that too." He continued, "No, they raided Mar-a-Lago. They started that. There were bad people that we had in our government before they raided Mar-a-Lago."

He further alleged that agents "went into my wife's area. They went into my son's area, my young son, and what they did was a disgrace."

Reflecting on the raid, Trump remarked, "But how did it work out? Where? Oh, I see, we're in the Oval Office."

Trump then quipped, "I guess it didn't work out too well for them, did it? They are bad people. They're sick. They're sick people and they came in with their guns into Mar-a-Lago and like 98 people."

Trump reveals Melania's reaction to FBI's raid

On August 22, Donald Trump shared how his wife, Melania Trump, reacted after noticing things out of place following the FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago. He made the remarks while answering questions about the agency’s search of John Bolton’s home.

As he addressed the media, Trump said, "But my house was raided also – called Mar-a-Lago. They went through everything they could including my son's room,  and my wife's area, they went through her drawers as the expression goes."

He added, "They went through everything you could imagine. And when she came back she said... she's very neat you know, she's meticulous. She looked and she said 'woo'. This isn't the way she had it so you know, it isn't a good feeling, I know the feeling."
