WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump on Monday, June 29, claimed his administration's Iran strategy is delivering tangible economic benefits for Americans, pointing to declining crude oil and gasoline prices while insisting Tehran has been permanently blocked from acquiring a nuclear weapon.

In a series of Truth Social posts, Trump celebrated falling West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude prices, urged fuel retailers to immediately pass savings on to consumers and highlighted what he described as record-high approval ratings.

The posts come as the administration continues defending its Iran policy following months of military operations and ongoing diplomatic negotiations aimed at curbing Tehran's nuclear ambitions.

Trump links oil to Iran

Trump pointed to benchmark crude prices falling below $69 per barrel, arguing the decline reflected the success of what he called the "Denuclearization of Iran."

"WTI CRUDE - $69, and heading down. This is less than it was prior to the start of the Denuclearization of Iran!" Trump wrote.

The White House has repeatedly argued that restoring stability around the Strait of Hormuz and maintaining pressure on Tehran has helped calm global energy markets after months of volatility.

Administration officials have also maintained that uninterrupted commercial shipping through the Gulf remains central to preventing another spike in global oil prices.

President demands lower pump prices

Trump followed his energy market update with a direct appeal to gasoline retailers.

"GAS PRICES COMING DOWN, FAST! REPORT ANY ABUSES AT RETAIL LEVEL!!!" he posted, signaling that consumers should quickly see lower prices reflected at local filling stations.

The administration has consistently argued that lower fuel costs remain a key component of its broader inflation agenda. White House officials have repeatedly said declining energy prices help reduce transportation costs while easing pressure on household budgets.

The president's latest message suggests the administration will closely monitor whether wholesalers and retailers promptly pass wholesale price declines on to drivers.

Poll numbers become political message

Trump also used the moment to highlight what he described as his strongest polling numbers since returning to office.

"Highest Poll Numbers Ever. Even Higher than Election Day," he wrote before again declaring that "IRAN WILL NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!"

By pairing polling data with falling fuel prices and national security messaging, Trump sought to reinforce the administration's argument that its Middle East policy is producing both economic and geopolitical results.
