Trump trolled as he claims Hurricane Helene’s timing was a surprise despite it being peak hurricane season
VALDOSTA, GEORGIA: GOP nominee Donald Trump insisted that the occurrence of Hurricane Helene was completely unexpected at this time of the year, while visiting Valdosta in Georgia on Monday, September 30.
However, according to Mediaite, Trump's remarks could not have been more worsely timed, as this is the peak hurricane season in the United States.
Hurricane Helene is being considered as one of the worst storms in recent US history, leaving behind widespread devastation.
According to ABC7, the imapact of the natural calamity spread from the Gulf Coast of Florida to Appalachian Mountains in Virginia. The death toll has already crossed 132, with as many as 600 people still remaining unaccounted for, according to White House homeland security adviser Liz Sherwood-Randall.

“It’s so extensive, nobody thought this would be happening — especially now it’s so late in the season for the hurricanes,” he added.
Mediaite noted that the hurricane season in the Atlantic coast of the country lasts from June 1 until November 30, with the peak coming between mid-August and late October, according to the Florida Climate Center at Florida State University.
What had Donald Trump said earlier about Hurricane Helene?
The publication reported on Donald Trump making a series of inflammatory comments in light of Hurricane Helene on Monday, September 30, as he took the opportunity to target his political rivals.
Taking to his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump accused Democratic nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris of arranging a "FAKE and STAGED" photo-op while leaving "Americans to drown" in the disaster.
In another post, he accused Governor Roy Cooper (D-NC) and the federal government of “going out of their way not to help people in Republican areas".
Trump further alleged that Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R) was “having a hard time” trying to contact President Joe Biden, a claim that has been refuted both by Kemp and Biden.
