WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris doubled down on her claim of having worked at McDonald's on Wednesday, September 25, during an interview with MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle.

In her attempt to disprove her Republican rival Donald Trump's repeated accusation of her lying about her experience, Harris also joined her interviewer in recalling an old jingle for the chain's signature offering, the Big Mac.

Kamala Harris' comments on her not 'little job'

During the interview, Ruhle brought up the subject of Harris working at McDonald's by referring to it as her "little job."

However, as Harris protested, "There's no such thing as a little job," she went on to ask, "Because your opponent, almost every day, seems to be talking about it, so I just want to ask you- yes or no- at any point in your life, have you served two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickled onions..."

"On a sesame seed bun?" a gleeful Harris joined Ruhle in completing her question, which was also a very popular jingle in the 1970s for the Big Mac.

The Vice President went on to assert that she indeed worked in the fast food chain once, noting, "But It was not a small job, like, I did the fries. I mean, you know, I did."

"Part of the reason I even talk about working at McDonald's is because there are people who work at McDonald's in our country who are trying to raise a family. I worked there as a student, I was a kid," she explained talking about her experience.

Conservatives troll Kamala Harris over her claim

MAGA supporters on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) did not agree with Harris' statement and harped on the rhetoric of her lying to gain street creds. The following tweets demonstrate their takes.

"She gave zero specifics. A real interviewer would have asked her what year , what location etc," wrote a user.

"She presents herself as a complete idiot," stated another.

"Why double down on such a stupid lie? Oh, that's right. Because she's a very simple stupid person," jibed a third.

"It was a very gripping, dramatic question! World events can wait while we talk about fries!" mocked a fourth.

"Many of her former colleagues at McDonald’s have come forward to verify her story," jibed a fifth, posting a picture of McDonald's puppet characters.

"I'm not disparaging anyone who works at McDonald's, I worked fast food in my life too, I'm just saying she's not even smart enough to do the fries," quipped yet another.
