TEMPE, ARIZONA: Law enforcement officials confirmed that shots were fired into Democratic nominee Kamala Harris' campaign office in Tempe, Arizona, on Tuesday, September 23, after staffers reported finding what appeared to be bullet holes in the front windows of the building the previous day.

A similar incident took place last week, when a BB gun or a pellet gun was used to fire into the windows after midnight on September 16, added the police.

According to the Daily Mail, the shooting took place days ahead of the Vice President's campaign stop in the swing state. During her first trip in August, she held a packed rally in Glendale where she shared her plans to increase border security and create a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.

The premise was vacated at the time of the shooting

The Tempe Police Department is reportedly investigating the incident as a property crime because nobody was inside the building at the time. The officials are analyzing the collected evidence and looking into the possible motives.

"No one was inside the office during the overnight hours, but this raises concerns about the safety of those who work in that building, as well as those nearby," shared Public Information Officer Sgt Ryan Cook.

Sean McEnerney, Arizona Democratic Party's coordinated campaign manager, stated, "We are grateful to Tempe Police for coming quickly to the scene, and are fortunate no one was present or injured."

In a post on the social media platform X, Democratic Congressman Greg Stanton expressed, "A debt of gratitude for each and every campaign staff member, volunteer and canvasser who works out of this critical campaign office in #AZ04. It’s unnerving, but with just 42 days until the end of this election, it won’t stop the important work from getting done."

Internet refuses to take incident at Kamala Harris' campaign office seriously

Reacting to the news on the Daily Mail website, readers appeared to be unmoved by the incident and expressed that it could simply be a ploy to attract attention or a publicity stunt.

"I suspect this is an attempt to regain attention to her campaign," wrote a person.

"Shots fired by a BB- or pellet gun? Sounds more like mischief definitely not an attempt on a life," shared another.

"A little bit of overdrama," quipped a third.

"Local glass company trying to drum up some business," jibed a fourth.

"A Dem false flag operation. Polling not so good and they hope Dem voters will get to the polling booth," alleged a fifth.

"People have just lost it," stated yet another.
