PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: On Thursday, June 6, former President Donald Trump said in an interview that he would announce his running mate at the Republican National Convention next month.

According to CNN, TV psychologist Dr Phil McGraw pressed the 77-year-old MAGA strongman, “Are you going to tell me who your vice-presidential choice is?”

The 2024 presumptive GOP nominee confirmed, “I think I’ll announce who that person’s gonna be during the convention. I think that’s pretty normal, during the convention. It’ll be an interesting period of time.”

The 45th President of the United States, Trump said in an interview with TMJ4 News last month that there was a “pretty good chance” he would declare his running mate at the Milwaukee GOP convention this year.

The aforementioned outlet reported on Wednesday that materials for vetting have been sent to several candidates who are being looked at for the running mate position, according to someone familiar with the process.

Individuals familiar with the discussions, however, warned that the former president’s search for a running mate is still up in the air, and the campaign has stressed that only Trump, himself, would make the final call.

Internet trolls Donald Trump as he gears up to pick his running mate

People online lambasted the former POTUS as they weighed in on the prospects of him being in jail by the time he settles on his running mate for the upcoming general election.

One person commented, "Whoever Trump selects they will have to be meek, controllable and swear complete fealty to The Donald. So good and well qualified need not apply."

Another person said, "They're all on their knees servicing Trump regardless if they get on the ticket."

Another person suggested, "Since he is our Maga king, he can do that from jail Can’t he?"

One person quipped, "Trump is such a narcissist he will name himself."

Another person asked, "The burning question is: Will he be making his announcement over the phone from prison (by permission from the warden) or at the convention in-person?"

Finally, this person remarked, "Or, Donnie may announce his running mate from prison, as circumstances require."
