Trump trolled as he wins golf championship yet again at his own club: 'When you're the only one playing'

BEDMINSTER, NEW JERSEY: President Donald Trump is back on the winner’s podium, or at least, he says he is.
Trump took to his Truth Social platform on Sunday, July 13, to once again declare himself a golf champion, sharing that he and partner Tommy Urciuoli had clinched the member-member championship at his own Trump Bedminster golf club.
Donald Trump brags about his latest golf win
As Donald Trump jetted back to Washington aboard Air Force One, he couldn’t resist bragging to reporters about another supposed win, this time at one of his clubs in Jupiter, Florida.
When asked about his performance in the Championship Round at Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Trump boasted, “Very good, because I won.” He added, “It’s good to win. You heard I won, right?” Trump even threw in a humblebrag: “I have a very low handicap.”
On July 13, he shared a video of himself golfing on Truth Social, though the video’s timestamp and location were unclear.

Right-wing activist Laura Loomer helped spread the word on X (formerly Twitter), claiming Trump had tied with another member and that the two “shared the Championship title.” She included a photo of Trump grinning from ear to ear while holding the award.

Of course, this weekend's win came as critics slammed Trump for golfing while his global tariff policies were sending markets into a tailspin. Trump had arrived in Florida for a LIV Golf tournament event.
Donald Trump racks up golf wins at his own clubs, but critics call foul on fairness
To say Donald Trump has a winning streak would be an understatement. However, that streak seems to only exist on home turf.
This latest title adds to his already packed trophy shelf, including wins at Trump International West Palm Beach in January (where, according to the Palm Beach Post, “nobody saw him play”) and another club championship at his Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach County in March.
That’s at least three club championships in 2024 alone, all at his own courses.
But sportswriter Rick Reilly, who once golfed with Trump, believes the president cheats on the green. He previously told MSNBC, “He cheats like a mafia accountant,” and declared Trump’s wins to be “fake as Velveeta cheese.”
“He’s never won a championship at a course he doesn’t own and operate,” Reilly alleged. “He’s played in Pebble Beach, he’s played in the Tahoe one, where there are rules and judges and cameras. And in those, he’s never finished in the top half. So he wins when anybody who disagrees that he won is out of the club. That’s how he gets it.”
Reilly reportedly wrote an entire book about Trump’s alleged golf fakery.
Donald Trump trolled on social media despite his victory
Critics on social media didn’t exactly buy Donald Trump’s latest victory, with many questioning the legitimacy of his seemingly endless tournament wins on his own turf.
"Another championship for Trump today in one of his tournaments. The guy never loses in his own events," one user snarked on X.

"Trump’s the greatest golfer we have ever seen in history. The likes of which we have never seen before," another quipped.

😆
"Does Trump ever lose at his own tournaments? Kinda easy to win when you're the only one playing. And of course, he squeezed it in 'between meetings and phone calls' classic narcissist move. You know what isn’t between meetings? Releasing the Epstein files. Do it, coward. #EpsteinList," read one comment.

"Authoritarian leaders routinely 'winning' sporting events is a well-established thing. See Putin & hockey, Kim Jong Il’s multiple holes-in-one in his first-ever round of golf, & Turkmenistan’s Berdymukhamedov falling off his horse after a race 'win.' It’s part of the strongman MO," someone else noted.

"It can’t be that he thinks we’re so stupid as not to see what he’s doing here. It’s just that his ego demands this kind of crap. On the other hand, his cult may be gullible enough to believe. Never thought we’d see this kind of infantile lunacy from the President," another chimed in.
