WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump took the world by storm on Wednesday, April 2, on ‘Liberation Day’ when he announced a new slate of tariff plans for dozens of countries.

Since then, Trump has faced internet backlash over the stock market's nosedive, with some social media users mocking the 78-year-old president for his uneven bronzer during the event and linking his appearance to the market turmoil triggered by the tariff announcement.

Donald Trump mocked for applying too much bronzer

Several users took to social media to point out the glaring look the Commander-in-Chief’s bronzer was giving during the press conference in the Rose Garden on Wednesday. The users even joked that the affected countries should retaliate by levying taxes on bronzer.

One of the social media users said, "Trump really needs to fire whoever is slapping on that bronzer 🍊🤡."

Someone else added, "Affected countries should retaliate with #tariffs on bronzer products."

"Trump sits at his little desk, bronzer than ever, thrusting his chin out like Mussolini, showing off the tariffs he has just signed. Wrecking the world economy is all a matter of staging for him, but it shouldn't be for the Washington Post," shared another user mocking the president.

Someone else noted, "Just shows no qualified make-up artist will work on him. Looks DIY."

"I just wonder if his use of bronzer is bad for his brain. These chemicals can cause cancer and he has something wrong with his brain," chimed in another.

Another said, "Liberation Day, # Trump will reduce reciprocal tariffs on orange makeup and adult male grey hair weaves."

Referencing the targeted countries, Trump says, "We will charge them approximately half of what they are and have been charging us because we are being very kind.”

He even plans to implement a 10 percent tariff on the Heard and McDonald Islands, which are mainly inhabited by wildlife such as penguins, seals, and seabirds.

Ever since Trump announced the tariff slate, the US stock market has experienced a nosedive, with the Dow Jones dropping 2,275 points (-5.53 percent) in just two days.

As reported by OK! Magazine, Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY), and other Republicans like Susan Collins (R-ME), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Rand Paul (R-KY), will reportedly be voting with Democrats to call for a measure to end the national emergency Trump declared previously to justify the tariff plans.
