WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump mocked reporters aboard Air Force One over questions about his MRI results he had already addressed earlier in the month.

The exchange came hours after Minnesota Governor Tim Walz publicly urged the Republican leader to release the records amid growing concerns about the 79-year-old's physical decline. Trump fielded the questions Sunday night, November 30, as he flew back to Washington, DC, from his Mar-a-Lago estate, where he spent the Thanksgiving holiday.

Trump taunts reporters asking about MRI results

Reporters asked Trump about Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s call to release his MRI results, following a controversial Thanksgiving Day post in which Trump insulted Walz.

When a male reporter mentioned Walz’s request, Trump replied, “They were perfect like my phone call where I got impeached. Absolutely perfect. If you want to have it released, I’ll release it.”

A female reporter then asked what part of the body the MRI examined. Trump responded, “For what? Releasing?” When she clarified, he said, “I have no idea. It was just an MRI. It wasn’t the brain because I took a cognitive test and aced it. I got a perfect mark, which you would be incapable of doing."

Tim Walz questions Trump's health

Earlier on Sunday, Walz renewed his call for more transparency about Trump’s health during an interview on NBC News.

He said the president appeared to be “fading physically” and raised serious concerns about his "mental capacity."

He added, “Here we got a guy on Thanksgiving where we spent time with our families, we ate, we played Yahtzee, we cheered for football or whatever. This guy is apparently in a room ranting about everything else. This is not normal behavior. It’s not healthy.”

Earlier in November, Trump had revealed that he underwent an MRI as part of his recent physical. He described the test as “very standard” and told reporters at the time that his doctor said it produced the best results he had ever seen.

Trump's recent heated exchanges with reporters

On Thursday, Trump angrily targeted CBS News reporter Nancy Cordes following the DC National Guard shootings, after she questioned his claim that the Biden administration failed to properly vet Afghan refugees.

“Are you a stupid person?” Trump asked. “Because they came in on a plane along with thousands of other people that shouldn’t be here, and you’re just asking questions because you’re a stupid person.”

The day before, Trump criticized New York Times reporter Katie Rogers, accusing her of being “assigned to only write bad things” about him and calling her “a third-rate reporter who is ugly, both inside and out.”

Earlier in November, he also told Bloomberg White House correspondent Catherine Lucey to be “quiet, piggy” on Air Force One.

Lucey had tried to ask about the Epstein files, but could only finish half of her follow-up question before Trump interrupted her.

Responding to the criticism, the White House defended Trump, saying the reporter had “behaved in an inappropriate and unprofessional way” and added, “If you’re going to give it, you have to be able to take it.”
