WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump, returning from his Thanksgiving holiday at Mar-a-Lago, addressed reporters aboard Air Force One, responding to renewed scrutiny of his health, particularly from Governor Tim Walz.

Trump said his recent MRI results were “perfect” and that he would release them if requested, following Walz’s public calls for disclosure.

While flying back to Washington, DC, the president was asked about Minnesota Governor Tim Walz's recent public demands for the release of his MRI results. These calls followed a Truth Social post where Trump used a mental health slur to criticize the former vice presidential candidate.

Trump used the opportunity to reiterate his longstanding claim that he had “aced” a cognitive test.

When a reporter first raised the issue, saying, “Governor Walz called for the release of your MRI results,” Trump immediately compared it to his first impeachment: “They were perfect like my phone call where I got impeached. Absolutely perfect. If you want to have it released, I’ll release it.”

Donald Trump dismisses concerns, says MRI not related to brain or mental health

The exchange continued with another reporter pressing the president to provide details about the scan.

When asked, “Can you tell us what they were looking at?" Trump initially responded, “For what? Releasing?” The reporter clarified, “No, what part of the body was the MRI looking at?”

Trump said the MRI was not related to his mental health, pointing to his prior success on cognitive testing.

“I have no idea. It was just an MRI,” he said. “It wasn’t the brain because I took a cognitive test and aced it. I got a perfect mark, which you would be incapable of doing.”

This mirrored what Trump previously said in November, commenting that his MRI exam as part of his recent physical was “very standard.” He also noted at the time that the doctor described it as the best result he had ever seen.

Governor Tim Walz raises serious concern over Trump’s physical and mental fitness

Discussion about the president’s health came shortly after Governor Tim Walz, on Sunday, November 30, renewed his criticism. Walz told NBC News that Trump appeared to be “fading physically” and that his “mental capacity” was a serious cause for concern.

He highlighted the contrast between a typical holiday and Trump’s behavior online: “Here we got a guy on Thanksgiving where we spent time with our families, we ate, we played Yahtzee, we cheered for football or whatever. This guy is apparently in a room ranting about everything else. This is not normal behavior. It’s not healthy."

Trump had previously disclosed the “very standard” MRI in November as part of his physical and told reporters, “The doctor said it was the best result he has ever seen as a doctor.”
