WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump has everyone asking how he is still going this strong at 78.

While past presidents have famously gone gray in office, Trump’s energy levels seem to have defied Father Time altogether.

From the moment he clinched the GOP nomination in March last year until Election Day on November 5, Trump packed in at least 120 rallies, town halls, and campaign events across the country — often with multiple stops a day in different states

That kind of stamina would knock out politicians half his age.

“The fact that he attended 120 events in 7 months — often multiple rallies in a single day in different states — is proof-positive that Trump has a tremendous amount of stamina, mentally and physically,” said Dr Brett Osborn, a Florida-based neurosurgeon and longevity expert, in a chat with Fox News.

Trump’s own doctor, Dr Bruce Aronwold from Morristown Medical Center, gave the president a glowing bill of health in a letter posted to Truth Social last November. Aronwold wrote that Trump’s physical exams were “well within the normal range” and that his cognitive performance was “exceptional.”

With some regular checkups and maintenance, the doctor added, “He will continue to enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle for years to come.”

Trump credits good genes and golf to his youthful vigour

Podcaster Joe Rogan couldn’t resist asking about Trump’s seemingly indestructible health during a special October episode of 'The Joe Rogan Experience'. “How are you so healthy?” Rogan asked point-blank.

“Genetics,” Trump replied, crediting his robust health to good genes. His parents, he said, also lived long and stayed strong.

But it’s not just genetics. Trump also credited his beloved golf routine for keeping him both mentally and physically sharp. According to him, there’s something about the “good, fresh air” and the focus needed on the course that helps him reset.

Osborn found the aging equation fascinating.

"It's well-established that both factors contribute to how we age, with research suggesting that about 75% of aging is driven by lifestyle and environment, and 25% by genetics," Osborn told Fox News.

"This balance highlights the power of lifestyle choices, even for those with potential genetic advantages."

Sure, he’s open about indulging in fast food and soda, but Trump has never smoked or drank alcohol — two major health risks he’s sidestepped.

“Avoiding alcohol and tobacco — major contributors to various health issues — likely benefits his cardiovascular and cognitive health,” Osborn said. “Golf outings provide regular outdoor exercise, which is essential for heart and muscle health as he ages.”

Plus, the guy is a social butterfly. Whether it’s family, rallies, or media face-offs, Trump’s constant interactions seem to work in his favor.

"He maintains close relationships with family and friends and keeps up a packed, demanding schedule," Osborn noted. "Social engagement and mental stimulation are strongly associated with lower dementia risks, and Trump's rigorous daily routine likely supports his cognitive health."

The mental edge that keeps Trump in the game

Trump’s brain seems to get its cardio from the chaos in Washington.

Dr Marc Siegel, professor at NYU Langone and a senior medical analyst for Fox, hasn’t examined Trump directly but has interviewed him twice. According to him, Trump’s mental game is still going strong. “I found him to be very engaged and cognitively advanced,” he said.

"I spoke several times to his physician during the first term, Sean Conley, who said he was very fit mentally and physically," Siegel said. "Many people who know him well tell me that."

When it comes to public speaking, Trump isn’t exactly leaning on teleprompters. “He has spoken extemporaneously many times without a script or teleprompter, which is advanced,” Siegel noted.

Osborn also emphasized Trump’s ability to field questions on the fly, which he said is “sound testimony to his high level of cognitive function and mental fortitude.”

Meanwhile, Osborn called whispers about his mental decline “unfounded.”

"Trump’s cognitive function rivals that of much younger individuals, and his stamina is evident in his ability to manage a high-energy schedule — think five rallies in five states in a single day!" Osborn said, adding, "These feats are a testament to his mental and physical resilience, demonstrating that age can truly be just a number."

Trump’s self-confidence and conviction

According to psychotherapist Jonathan Alpert, Trump's secret might just be confidence. He said that Trump’s "strong sense of self" could also contribute to his stamina, though he hasn’t examined him personally.

He noted that patients who do best are those who possess “positive thinking and self-confidence.”

And Trump seems to be a walking billboard for both. "The patients who tend to thrive and have good health are the ones who maintain positive thinking and self-confidence, and there's no doubt that Donald Trump embodies these traits," Alpert told Fox News.

"We’ve seen him face a multitude of highly stressful situations — indictment, assassination attempts, intense criticism and scrutiny by the public — yet he seems to maintain a strong belief in himself and sticks to his convictions," he added.

A strong sense of purpose, social bonds, and a feeling of control over one’s life are all key ingredients for long-term health, he insisted. "The patients I treat who feel like they have control over obstacles and adversity tend to persevere, while those who are negative and feel they have no control over events don't do so well," Alpert said.

Osborn agreed, noting that what we do with our time can either age us or protect us. “Poor nutrition, high stress, inactivity and lack of social interaction can all speed up aging,” he said.

Trump, meanwhile, chooses differently. “President Trump’s choice to avoid smoking and drinking, stay physically active, and remain socially engaged helps counterbalance the effects of his diet,” Osborn explained.

“And let’s be honest — who doesn’t enjoy a bit of McDonald’s now and then?” he quipped.
